Zhong Lichun's forehead was covered in cold sweat. After all, she was currently being aimed at by a dark, gaping gun barrel, and the other party could easily end her life.

The most conspicuous was his left ear, which was half missing.

Although she occasionally saw Kabu after being taken in as an adopted daughter by Grede, they rarely spoke. However, Zhong Lichun had always remembered this honest, older brother who had taken good care of her.

"You girl are really bold. Don't you know you could really lose your life like this?" Kabu asked Zhong Lichun with a wry smile.

"If you help me, won't you become an accomplice too?" Zhong Lichun also smiled wryly and retorted.

Since you've decided to rescue these hostages, let me help you. I've become your accomplice anyway, and there's no turning back," Kabu said with a shrug and a helpless expression.

Kabu nodded and then walked towards the direction where the trucks were parked. Zhong Lichun, on the other hand, headed towards the small house where the hostages were held. However, both Zhong Lichun and Kabu forgot one thing: the guy Kabu had knocked out earlier was not dead.

When Zhong Lichun pushed open the door, she startled all the hostages held inside. A few who had seen Zhong Lichun before were so frightened that they cowered in the corner, not daring to make a sound or look at her, fearing what this girl called "Miss" might do to them.

Time was pressing, as there wasn't much time left before the shift change. Zhong Lichun directly stated her purpose. When the hostages heard that Zhong Lichun was here to save them, they were all stunned. Some even looked at Zhong Lichun with confused expressions, clearly doubting her.

Zhong Lichun didn't have time to explain things here. Seeing that normal communication wouldn't work, Zhong Lichun became furious and directly raised her gun, ordering the hostages to follow her.

Although the hostages were full of doubt, seeing the semi-automatic rifle in Zhong Lichun's hand, they dared not disobey and could only obediently follow Zhong Lichun out of the dilapidated house where they had been imprisoned for several days.

After leaving the house, Zhong Lichun looked around to confirm no one was there before leading the hostages towards the parked trucks. It was only then that the hostages truly believed Zhong Lichun was there to save them.

Arriving at the truck, Kabu was already waiting inside. Zhong Lichun told everyone to get into the truck quickly, while she stood guard outside with a gun. Just as nearly two-thirds of the people had climbed onto the truck, a piercing gunshot suddenly rang out. The sound came from the direction of where the hostages had been held.

The one who fired the shot was the guard who had woken up from being knocked out. This gunshot plunged the entire camp into chaos.

Hearing the gunshot and the commotion in the camp, Zhong Lichun became truly anxious and urged those who hadn't gotten into the truck to hurry up. However, even with her urging, it still took time for them to get into the truck. Finally, their movements were discovered.

Since they had been discovered, Zhong Lichun no longer hid. She ran behind a jeep, using it as cover, and actively opened fire on the approaching enemy members. With her shot as the fuse, a fierce gun battle finally began.

Almost at the same moment Zhong Lichun jumped onto the truck, Kabu stepped on the accelerator, and the truck sped away. As the truck rushed out of the camp, Zhong Lichun took out the detonator and pressed the button on it.
