For the sake of caution, Lin Hao Tian and Wang Da Ge did not go straight down. At Wang Da Ge's signal, Lin Hao Tian threw down the torch in his hand. Since the torch had been wrapped in a layer of flammable resin, it did not go out after landing. By its light, the two confirmed once again that there were no Snake People below, then climbed down along the rope.

After landing safely, Lin Hao Tian picked up the torch from the ground. The two then retraced their path. Strangely enough, they did not encounter any Snake People along the way—not even one. The corpses of the Snake People they had killed earlier had also disappeared. The entire Underground Cavity was eerily quiet, as if everything they had experienced before had merely been a nightmare.

They quickly returned to the entrance of the bizarre passage. Wang Da Ge used a rope to tie the two of them together so they would not become separated inside. Once they were ready, Wang Da Ge lit another torch, broadening their field of vision and allowing them to react in time if anything unexpected happened.

The passage itself had not changed, but under the light of two torches, it looked even more bizarre. They had not noticed anything while walking through in the dark, but now that they took a careful look, both of them broke out in a cold sweat.
