Ch. 265Counterattack of the Dumb Cute Creatures

Shen Gui learned that Wangshu, Xihe and Changxi’s powerful master, had invited him to the Lunar Star, but he decided he could avoid danger by refusing to go. After eating the carrots the sisters gave him, he suddenly fell asleep as they cheered and Yao Yue called out anxiously.

  • Shen Gui sat with Xihe and Changxi and ate their carrots to convince them he did not eat demons.
  • Changxi told Shen Gui that their master, Wangshu, had sent them to bring him to the Lunar Star as a guest.
  • Xihe and Changxi revealed everything they knew about Wangshu, while Wangshu regretted that they were giving away her secrets.
  • Shen Gui concluded that Wangshu was dangerous but could not easily leave the Lunar Star, so he planned to stay away.
  • Shen Gui bit into another carrot, grew sleepy, and collapsed as Xihe and Changxi cheered and Yao Yue called to him.

Ch. 266Di Jun: Why Am I Always the One Getting Hurt?!

Xihe and Changxi captured Shen Gui and carried him toward the Lunar Star, while Wangshu stopped Hongjun from intervening and promised not to harm him. At Mount Buzhou, the Demon Race’s formation collapsed against Pangu True Body, leaving Di Jun once again wondering who had cut off his Lunar Star Power.

  • Xihe and Changxi confirmed Shen Gui was unconscious, then carried him away while Yao Yue and little You Mo failed to stop them.
  • Yao Yue called on the incarnation of the Mysterious Black Tortoise of the Northern Darkness to rescue Shen Gui, but he claimed he had fallen asleep.
  • Hongjun tried to stop Xihe and Changxi, but Wangshu blocked him and promised that Shen Gui would not be harmed.
  • Hongjun withdrew, and Wangshu let Xihe and Changxi continue toward the Lunar Star with Shen Gui.
  • At Mount Buzhou, Pangu True Body struck the Demon Race’s forces and sent Di Jun, Eastern Emperor Tai Yi, Kunpeng, Fuxi, and the others flying.
  • Di Jun wondered who had cut off his Lunar Star Power again.

Ch. 267Di Jiang and His Reckless Flag-Setting

The second War of the Witches and Demons ended after Nuwa intervened to save Fuxi and the Demon Race army withdrew. At the Heavenly Court, Di Jun explained how the battle began, and Fuxi concluded that Xihe and Changxi had used the Demon Race for their own ends.

  • After the Grand Formation of the Myriad Stars lost its Lunar Star Power, Di Jun, Eastern Emperor Tai Yi, Kunpeng, and Fuxi were badly wounded by the Pangu True Body.
  • Fuxi stepped in front of Di Jun to take the Pangu True Body’s next attack, but Nuwa appeared and drove it back with a single strike.
  • Nuwa rebuked Fuxi for forcing her to save him, then vanished as the Demon Race army withdrew and the Ancestor Witches ended their pursuit.
  • Di Jiang declared that the Wu Clan would spare the Demon Race this time, believing Nuwa would not always be there to help them.
  • At the Heavenly Court, Di Jun recounted the events that led to the battle, and Fuxi concluded that Xihe and Changxi had turned the Demon Race to their advantage.

Ch. 268There's a Story!

Xihe and Changxi brought Shen Gui to Wangshu on the Lunar Star, where Wangshu punished them for revealing her private details and wondered whether Shen Gui was still the same person she once knew. Nuwa arrived to confront Wangshu, who faced her beneath the osmanthus tree.

  • Fuxi and the others concluded that Xihe and Changxi had cut off the Lunar Star Power to retaliate against Di Jun, and the war between the shamans and demons ended temporarily.
  • Nuwa returned to Wa Huang Heaven, discovered Shen Gui was gone, learned what had happened, and headed for the Lunar Star.
  • Xihe and Changxi delivered Shen Gui to Wangshu, who sentenced them to three hundred years of seclusion for revealing her personal details.
  • Wangshu considered Shen Gui’s origins and whether he was still the same being she remembered, then touched his sleeping face and called him her toy.
  • Nuwa appeared on the Lunar Star and challenged Wangshu, who withdrew her hand from Shen Gui and reproached Nuwa for her lack of manners.

Ch. 269A Shura Field?

Nuwa confronted Wangshu on the Lunar Star and learned that Shen Gui was a Chaos Demon God from Wangshu’s generation. Wangshu knocked Shen Gui unconscious after he failed to remember her, prompting Nuwa to demand an explanation.

  • Nuwa realized Wangshu’s presence resembled Hongjun’s and learned that Wangshu had brought Shen Gui to the Lunar Star to meet an old friend.
  • Wangshu and Nuwa traded barbed remarks over Shen Gui’s status, each trying to establish an advantage.
  • Shen Gui woke, tried to pretend he was still asleep, and was kicked up by Wangshu.
  • Nuwa greeted Shen Gui as a senior, but he stopped her and asked her to address him without invoking his Chaos Demon God origins.
  • Shen Gui guessed Wangshu’s identity from what Xihe and Changxi had said, then admitted he had never met her before.
  • Wangshu waved her sleeve and made Shen Gui collapse, and Nuwa angrily asked what she had done to him.

Ch. 270Long, Long Ago

Wangshu told Nuwa how Shen Gui had carried her through the chaos long ago, and how contact with him led fate to favor her. Shen Gui remembered the encounter and woke to find Wangshu watching him expectantly, unsure how to respond.

  • Wangshu explained that she had once been a helpless flower carried atop Shen Gui’s head through the chaos.
  • Wangshu said she later gained countless opportunities and survived dangers because she had encountered the Gate of Destiny through Shen Gui.
  • Wangshu recounted searching for Shen Gui and joining the battle where Pangu split open the heavens after learning Shen Gui would be there.
  • Shen Gui remembered casually placing the flower on his head and wondered why her luck had improved while his had not.
  • Shen Gui woke from the transmitted memories and faced Wangshu’s expectant expression, worrying that the truth might anger her.

Ch. 272This Had to Be a Yandere!

Wangshu asked Shen Gui to stay with her on the Lunar Star, but he refused, and her devotion turned into a threat to keep him by force. Nuwa intervened to protect him as Wangshu prepared to defy the Heavenly Dao, leaving a confrontation on the brink of erupting.

  • Wangshu told Shen Gui she wanted to stay by his side and asked him to remain on the Lunar Star because she was bound there by an agreement with the Heavenly Dao.
  • Shen Gui refused, saying he could not abandon Yao Yue, Shang Yang, You Mo, Ci Tie, Li Han, and the Northern Kurukshetra Continent for someone he had only met once.
  • Wangshu offered Shen Gui a choice between staying willingly or being kept as her toy, and Nuwa pulled him behind her and confronted Wangshu.
  • Wangshu dismissed Nuwa as no match for her, while Nuwa warned that the Heavenly Dao would destroy Wangshu if she caused trouble.
  • The Heavenly Dao gathered lightning above the Lunar Star as Wangshu fixed her gaze on Shen Gui and prepared to fight even if it meant her destruction.

Ch. 273Are Three-legged Golden Crows Actually Same-Sex Reproducers?

Shen Gui tried to negotiate with Wangshu to prevent a fight that could destroy much of the Primordial Wilderness, while Di Jun and Eastern Emperor Tai Yi went to the Solar Star to accelerate the birth of more Three-legged Golden Crows. Wangshu fell silent after Shen Gui refused her earlier demand and asked her to compromise.

  • Shen Gui released Nuwa's hand and approached Wangshu, calming her enough to sit down and talk.
  • Di Jun decided that he and Eastern Emperor Tai Yi could use their Essence Blood and the Fusang Tree's origin to accelerate the gestation of new Three-legged Golden Crows.
  • Di Jun and Eastern Emperor Tai Yi handed government affairs to Fuxi and went to the Solar Star to make more Three-legged Golden Crows.
  • Nuwa confronted Wangshu during Shen Gui's negotiations, but Shen Gui restrained Nuwa and asked Wangshu to change her demand.
  • Wangshu fell silent as Shen Gui said he could not accept her previous condition and asked her to compromise.

Ch. 274Dark Undercurrents

Wangshu let Shen Gui leave after he asked to remain friends, and Nuwa took him from the Lunar Star. Elsewhere, Houtu mourned the Primordial Land’s devastation, while Di Jun and Eastern Emperor Tai Yi welcomed ten newly born Golden Crows, prompting Nuwa to worry about the struggle for supremacy.

  • Wangshu told Shen Gui to go, then accepted his offer of friendship before he left with Nuwa.
  • Houtu wandered across the desolate Primordial Land and questioned the war between the Wu Clan and Demon Race.
  • Di Jun and Eastern Emperor Tai Yi used their Essence Blood and the Fusang Tree’s origin essence to bring ten young Golden Crows to life.
  • Shen Gui noticed the Solar Star shining brightly, and Nuwa saw the Golden Crows and worried that Di Jun and Tai Yi would involve Fuxi in their conflict.

Ch. 275Shen Gui: It Doesn't Matter How Thick Your Shell Is, Your Skin Must Be Thick!

After learning that the Ten Golden Crows had been born, Shen Gui reflected on Houtu’s future sacrifice before discovering that Yao Yue had quit managing the Northern Kurukshetra Continent. He went to ask her forgiveness, but she remained cold even after he admitted he missed her.

  • Shen Gui heard that Di Jun had celebrated the birth of the Demon Race’s ten princes and wondered how they had been born without Xihe or Changxi as his consorts.
  • Shen Gui thought of Houtu’s compassion and regretted that she might soon sacrifice herself to create reincarnation.
  • Shen Gui learned that Yao Yue had quit after hearing he had rekindled an old flame while she worried about him.
  • Shen Gui visited Yao Yue and tried to apologize, while Si Yue laughed at his awkward reception.
  • Shen Gui told Yao Yue that he missed her, but she dismissed his words and asked him to leave.
  • Shen Gui insisted that his emotional problems were important to the Northern Kurukshetra Continent and that only Yao Yue could save it.

Ch. 276What Am I to You?

Yao Yue asked Shen Gui what she meant to him, and he admitted that she was the only woman who had truly stirred his romantic feelings. They reconciled, and Shen Gui left the sleeping Yao Yue in his arms while considering a timid kiss.

  • Yao Yue asked Shen Gui what she was to him after realizing she could not watch him be with someone else.
  • Shen Gui embraced Yao Yue and called her his housekeeper and Demon Consort, then admitted she was the only woman who had truly moved his heart.
  • Shen Gui explained that nothing romantic had happened between him and Wangshu, and Yao Yue listened without doubt.
  • Si Yue saw the pair reconcile, left to give them privacy, and grumbled that he could not beat Shen Gui if he mistreated Yao Yue.
  • Yao Yue fell asleep in Shen Gui's arms, and Shen Gui cautiously leaned down, contemplating a secret kiss.

Ch. 277Six Paths Underworld (Part 1)

Houtu witnessed the suffering of resentful souls in the Netherworld Blood Sea and realized she needed to give the dead a place to return. She sacrificed herself to create the Six Paths, leaving Ming He’s Blood Sea depleted and the Yellow Springs flowing into it.

  • Houtu asked Ming He why he seized resentful souls, and he explained that he used them to create new Asuras who could not reproduce on their own.
  • Ming He showed Houtu how resentful souls became Asuras, and Houtu told him to stop making them.
  • Houtu announced that she would relinquish her body to create the Six Paths, and the Heavenly Dao bore witness as radiance descended.
  • Houtu dissolved as six black holes emerged, drawing in the Blood Sea’s resentful souls and much of its water.
  • The other eleven Ancestor Witches rushed toward the Blood Sea, while Ming He shut himself away after losing much of his power.
  • A river descended from the void, became the Yellow Springs, and flowed into the Blood Sea.

Ch. 278Six Paths Underworld (Part 2)

Ping Xin completed the Six Paths of Reincarnation, accepting the role and treasures granted by the Heavenly Dao after giving up her identity and body as Houtu. She parted from the Ancestor Witches, leaving them to return while she remained in the underworld, grieving the separation.

  • The Bridge of Helplessness and a platform appeared in the Yellow Springs, where Meng Po pledged to serve Ping Xin.
  • Merit restored Ping Xin’s form, and she declared that she was no longer Houtu before accepting the Judge’s Brush, Book of Life and Death, and Three Lives Stone.
  • Ping Xin established the Six Paths of Reincarnation, including the Asura Path, easing Ming He’s fears about the Asura Clan’s future.
  • The eleven Ancestor Witches arrived, and Zhu Rong and Xuan Ming mourned Houtu’s transformation while Ping Xin urged them to take care of themselves.
  • Di Jiang and the other Ancestor Witches departed after Zhu Jiuyin promised they would help Ping Xin whenever she called; Ping Xin watched them go and wondered whether her sacrifice was also selfish.

Ch. 279Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence Between Humans and Demons

After Houtu became Ping Xin and established reincarnation, the Wu-Demon balance shifted while the human race rapidly spread across the Primordial Wilderness. In Northern Kurukshetra Continent, Shen Gui had Yao Yue issue principles intended to prevent conflict between humans and demons.

  • Shen Gui regretted missing his chance to kiss Yao Yue, but fled when she teased him with another opportunity, leaving her laughing after him.
  • The Wu Clan sought a replacement for Houtu, while Di Jun and the Heavenly Court held back from attacking and waited for the ten young Golden Crows to mature.
  • As Laozi's cultivation teachings helped the human race flourish, humans spread across all five major continents and became a rising power.
  • Shen Gui proposed the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence Between Humans and Demons to keep Northern Kurukshetra Continent from becoming a target of human hatred.
  • Yao Yue accepted Shen Gui's proposal and had the principles promulgated.

Ch. 280Northern Darkness Clan

Shen Gui agreed to let humans build cities and settle throughout Northern Kurukshetra Continent, and Yao Yue explained that only the continent’s rulers had previously been allowed to build cities. Bei Minghong and the Northern Darkness Clan accepted the Demon Sovereign’s leadership as human settlements spread, while Bei Minghong arrived at Northern Profound City and saw how far humanity still was from matching its scale.

  • Shen Gui considered allowing humans to settle in cities, and Yao Yue agreed while suggesting they also be allowed to build cities in Northern Kurukshetra Continent.
  • Yao Yue explained that other races could not freely build cities on major continents, and Shen Gui authorized her to handle the matter.
  • The Demon Sovereign’s orders spread across Northern Kurukshetra Continent, and Bei Minghong rejoiced at the protections and security they gave humanity.
  • Bei Minghong proposed that the Northern Darkness Clan submit to the Demon Sovereign’s leadership, and the elders agreed.
  • Human cities began appearing across Northern Kurukshetra Continent, and Bei Minghong visited Northern Profound City and recognized that humanity could not yet build anything like it.

Ch. 281Entering the City

Bei Minghong arrived at Northern Profound City to pay his respects to Demon Lord Your Majesty, stunned by the strength of its guards. At the gate, Gui Hai and Ling Su questioned and registered him, then learned he was the leader of the Northern Darkness Clan.

  • Bei Minghong reached Northern Profound City's gates and found that even its guards were stronger than he was.
  • Gui Hai and Ling Su discussed the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence Between Humans and Demons and doubted that humans would come to the city.
  • Gui Hai noticed Bei Minghong approaching and called him over instead of letting him join the queue.
  • Ling Su prepared to register Bei Minghong after Gui Hai asked who he was and why he had come.
  • Bei Minghong introduced himself as Tribe Leader of the Northern Darkness Clan and said he had come to pay his respects to Demon Lord Your Majesty, prompting Gui Hai to ask if he was human.

Ch. 282People

Bei Minghong, the leader of the Human Race in Northern Kurukshetra Continent, arrived in Northern Profound City to pay respects to Shen Gui, but Shen Gui did not meet him. Shen Gui reflected on whether helping the scattered Human Race populations was right and whether they could remain one people as they mingled with other races.

  • Gui Hai confirmed Bei Minghong was the Human Race leader and escorted him into Northern Profound City toward the Demon Lord's Palace.
  • The chapter described how the Human Race spread across the four continents, with the western population suffering the worst attacks from Demon Kings.
  • Jieyin and Zhunti viewed the demons' attacks on the Human Race in Western Ox Continent as a chance for the Western Teachings to spread their influence.
  • Yao Yue asked Shen Gui why he had not met Bei Minghong, and Shen Gui left her question unanswered.
  • Shen Gui wondered whether his aid to the Human Race in Northern Kurukshetra Continent could lead its people to assimilate into the Demon Race.

Ch. 283Humans, Wu

Shen Gui severed his lingering attachment to his human past and advanced to the middle stage of Quasi-Saint. Meanwhile, Hou Yi left the remnants of the Houtu Tribe, and humans and the Wu Clan grew closer through intermarriage and the rise of the Wu Ren.

  • Shen Gui rejected sacrificing his own interests for humanity and severed his obsession with his past human life, advancing to the middle stage of Quasi-Saint.
  • Kuafu urged Hou Yi to establish a tribe, but Hou Yi said he wanted to travel and understand why Houtu had sacrificed herself to become reincarnation.
  • Hou Yi helped the drunken Kuafu to bed and then left, while Kuafu woke and grieved that the Houtu Tribe had finally ceased to exist.
  • Over time, humans and the Wu Clan of Central Continent began living together and intermarrying, producing descendants known as Wu Ren.
  • The human race gained protection from the Wu Clan, while Wu Ren helped address the Wu Clan’s poor reproduction and possessed Primordial Spirits.

Ch. 284Chapter 284

As Demon Race attacks intensified, the Youqiong Tribe migrated to the Weak Water River beneath Kunlun Mountain, hoping for protection near the Three Pure Ones. Instead, Yayu emerged from the river and began devouring the tribe, leaving its people with little hope of escape.

  • The Demon Race escalated its attacks on humans, especially in Eastern Divine Continent and Southern Jambudvipa, while the Wu Clan could not protect everyone.
  • The Youqiong Tribe moved to the Weak Water Riverbank beneath Kunlun Mountain, unaware that Yayu lived below the river.
  • Yayu dragged hundreds of tribespeople into his jaws, then swallowed the Youqiong Tribe Leader when he tried to hold the beast back.
  • The surviving tribespeople fled, but Yayu used his immense suction to devour them in batches while dozing between meals.
  • Yayu considered finding more human tribes to eat after finishing the Youqiong Tribe.

Ch. 285Destined Encounter

Hou Yi killed the Demonic Beast Yayu with a single arrow after encountering the fleeing Youqiong Tribe. He agreed to protect the survivors for a while and introduced himself to Chang'e as Great Wu Hou Yi.

  • Hou Yi encountered people from the Youqiong Tribe fleeing Yayu, and Chang'e stopped to urge him to escape.
  • Hou Yi formed an arrow of light with his bow and killed Yayu with one shot.
  • Chang'e asked Hou Yi to protect the tribe because its cultivators, including her father, had been killed, and Hou Yi agreed to stay temporarily.
  • Hou Yi and Chang'e led the survivors upstream, and Hou Yi introduced himself as Great Wu Hou Yi before Chang'e gave her name.
