Naruto spun around, his eyes fixed on the egg as he could barely believe what he was seeing. He even rubbed his eyes hard and pinched his cheek. The sharp pain told him this wasn't a dream!
The egg that had accompanied him through countless days and nights, that had practically become part of his life, was now giving off a soft, steady milky-white glow! A distinct crack was slowly spreading across its shell...
