Background / History

The Three Thousand Continents are an Upper Realm region and a cultivation world containing numerous human, demon, and other powers. By the time Bai Ye learns of them, they are associated with the vast Upper Realm beyond his original sphere of activity 22.

The continents have long remained politically independent from the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands. The Archaic Covenant applied to them as a mutual pact to resist the Other Domain, rather than as a basis for outside powers to claim authority or plunder local fortunes 124.

A historical catastrophe created the No Man's Land: the Eternal Heavenly Court sealed an Other Domain Immortal King there, causing massive destruction, loss of life, and shattered laws across the Three Thousand Continents 124.

• Central Continent — Site of the Azure Gold Warship's arrival; its pressure covered half the continent 119 120.
• Cloud Continent — Home to the Heavenly Star Sacred Sect, described as its only Seventh-tier power during the Monster Tide 62.
• Spirit Continent — Location of an Immortal Ancient Secret Realm used for a grand trial jointly held by the Heavenly Star Sacred Sect and Ten Thousand Buddhas Sect 119.

Azure Spirit Secret Realm era

The Azure Spirit Secret Realm, which opens once per century for cultivators under sixty, provides opportunities amid ancient demonic beasts and sectarian competition. Bai Ye enters it seeking to reach the Profound Comprehension Realm and later receives the Profound Sword Master's inheritance within it 7 22.

Monster Tide

A Demon Race Monster Tide engulfs the human Qing, You, and Lei Continents within ten days. The invading force includes hundreds of Divine Venerable Realm Monster Generals, tens of thousands of Heavenly God Realm Monster Soldiers, and Divine King Realm Monster Kings; Kunlun Immortal Palace calls for united resistance 62.

Divine Emperor and Great Emperor phenomena

The Demon Emperor's breakthrough sends an Imperial Dao aura across the Three Thousand Continents, prompting human Ninth-tier powers to activate Divine Emperor-level formations and Imperial weapons 83.

Later, the birth of a Great Emperor produces celestial and Heavenly Dao anomalies visible across the continents, awakening ancient beings in forbidden zones and exposing immortal traces in the Depths of No Man's Land 96 97.

Azure Gold Warship incident

An Azure Gold Warship emerges from a rift above Central Continent, spreading pressure across half the region and alarming major powers, Divine Realm cultivators, and forbidden-zone ancients. It subsequently heads toward the Heavenly Sword Sect 119 120.

Conflict with the Eternal Heavenly Court

The Eternal Heavenly Court's past responsibility for No Man's Land becomes public, provoking widespread grief and anger. Ji Xuan later attempts to seize the continents' Great Dao Origin with the Heavenly Prison Source Suppressing Cauldron, but Bai Ye destroys the treasure and prevents the seizure 124 126.

Arrival of outside Immortal Kings

The appearance of two same-origin Immortal King Marks on the Three Thousand Continents draws the attention of Immortal Kings and heavenly courts from the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands. Subsequent Immortal King pressure threatens the regional Domain Barrier as outside experts approach through the Chaos Void 140 154.

Ancient Star Road opening

When the Ancient Star Road opens, a coordinate imprint is automatically branded by the Great Dao of Heaven and Earth into the Sea of Consciousness of Immortal Realm experts. The projection above the Heavenly Star Sacred Sect is recognized as proof that the legendary road has truly opened, attracting interest from both local Immortal Realm cultivators and outside powers 166.

Three Realms unification

After defeating the Samsara Dao Venerable, Bai Ye revives the Other Domain and the Immortal Realm, then unites them with the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands into a single Three Realms structure 267.
