The notes faded, and the performance ended.
When he finished his final line, the uproar once again swept through the campus, several times louder than before.
He switched off his portable speaker, put away his headset, and swung the keytar behind him again. Smiling, he said to her, "That about does it. Ready to get chewed out in the office and write an apology, Miss Sakurajima?"
Sakurajima Mai smiled and rolled her eyes at him, puffing her cheeks slightly. "You're not staying with me?"
"If I stay, an apology probably won't be enough to settle things."
