Rampage and Reason
The Nine-Tails froze for a moment. After seeing the determination in Naruto's eyes, it immediately understood what he was thinking.
Although Naruto had long known its identity, he did not want anyone else to learn of it. He could only rely on its power to destroy the corpse and erase all traces.
He did not ask for help when his life was in danger, yet he came looking for it over something so trivial...
The Nine-Tails felt powerless to complain, but it still separated a portion of its Chakra and sent it to Naruto through a gap in the seal.
This time, Naruto no longer resisted the negative emotions within the Nine-Tails Chakra and began to seriously experience that Chakra.
The moment he gave up resisting, Naruto entered a rampaging state within seconds. After instantly destroying the corpse on the ground, he looked toward the bright moon outside the window.
"So this is the Nine-Tails' power? It really is intoxicating."
After that sigh, Naruto, barely able to maintain his sanity, leaped out the window and ran toward the outskirts of the village.
Within the Sealing Space, the Nine-Tails sensed this and let out a faint sigh. "Even in this situation, he deliberately chose a place with fewer people. Does this brat really still have a trace of kindness in his heart?"
Not far away, the Cloud ninja and Anbu squad locked in a standoff also noticed Naruto's rampage.
Even from over a hundred meters away, they could still feel that heart-pounding Chakra constantly plucking at their fragile nerves, as countless negative emotions surged into their minds.
Had the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki gone berserk?
Uzuki Yugao thought to herself, then immediately drew her short sword and aimed it at the Cloud ninja Squad Leader. "Honored guests from Cloud? Aren't you coming with us?"
The expressions of the Cloud ninja were extremely ugly, but they could only continue their feeble explanations.
They had considered fleeing, but this was Konoha territory. Moreover, beside this Female Anbu skilled in swordsmanship stood an Anbu who had learned Transparent Escape and could turn invisible. They had no chance of escaping at all.
After hesitating for a moment, the Cloud ninja Squad Leader said, "The truth will prove everything. We really did not lay a hand on the Jinchuriki. But your Jinchuriki seems to have gone berserk. Aren't you going to do something about it?"
"The Interrogation Unit will make you tell the truth!"
Uzuki Yugao's face was icy as she glanced at the empty air beside her and quietly asked, "Hayate, what happened with the Jinchuriki? Didn't I tell you to find Captain Kakashi?"
Gekko Hayate seemed even weaker than before. Panting, he said, "I fired the signal flare, but when I tried to protect the Jinchuriki, another black-clad ninja blocked my way. He did not try to kill me, but he kept stalling for time."
"Didn't try to kill you, deliberately stalled for time..."
Uzuki Yugao's expression darkened, as if she had guessed something. In a quiet voice, she said, "Hayate, I'm afraid we've been dragged into trouble. After this, we should take more missions outside the village. The village is less safe than the outside."
Gekko Hayate glanced at Uzuki Yugao and softly sighed. "You're right. It's safer outside."
Even while doing his utmost to control his mind, Naruto inevitably destroyed the streets along his path after going berserk.
Before the violent Tailed Beast Chakra, hard stone and soft earth were no different. The tremendous commotion woke the villagers in the nearby districts from their sleep.
They opened their bleary eyes and, through the gaps in their windows, saw a blood-red beast wreaking havoc in the streets.
Then they were so frightened by that violent Chakra that they collapsed to the ground, curled up in corners with blankets over their heads, trembling and not daring to even breathe loudly.
The painfully familiar scene brought back memories of the night four years ago.
Kakashi, standing atop a nearby house, deeply furrowed his brow at the sight. He then removed the eyepatch covering his Sharingan, and the eerie eye slowly spun in the darkness.
The Jinchuriki had gone berserk, but he was far stronger than he had been four years ago. He was no longer a boy who needed protection.
Following the violent Nine-Tails Chakra, Kakashi's figure flickered continuously. Before long, he locked onto Naruto's location and intercepted the rampaging Naruto in an empty clearing in a secluded park.
All the exercise equipment that had once stood in the park had been destroyed, and a long trail had been carved into the ground.
Seemingly noticing Kakashi's presence, the rampaging Naruto turned to look at him and slowly approached step by step.
Kakashi frowned. After bringing his palms together, flickering lightning appeared in his hand, emitting a sharp chirping sound as he aimed its edge at Naruto, who was slowly approaching.
Just as Kakashi prepared to make a last stand, Naruto stopped.
Then, as the Tailed Beast Chakra around him faded away, Naruto fell stiffly forward. Just before he hit the ground, Kakashi used the Body Flicker Technique and caught him.
Kakashi looked at the unconscious Naruto, then at the wound on Naruto's arm.
Combining it with the signal flare Hayate had fired, Kakashi organized the clues he had and gradually reconstructed the course of events.
Someone in the village had intended to assassinate or abduct the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki, but they had injured Naruto instead, causing Naruto to directly transform into a Tailed Beast and go berserk, leading to everything before him.
But who had approached Naruto, and why they had attacked him, Kakashi had no idea.
He could only report this information and leave it to the village higher-ups to judge. What happened afterward had nothing to do with him.
Still, this child's appearance...
Kakashi froze slightly. He suddenly thought of his teacher, who had been dead for many years. Why did this child look somewhat like his teacher, the Fourth Hokage?
Could he be his teacher's child...?
While Kakashi's thoughts ran wild, the Third Hokage, dressed in ninja attire, arrived nearby with a large group of Anbu. They came before Kakashi and stared at Naruto in his arms.
"Kakashi, was it you who stopped the Jinchuriki's rampage?"
Kakashi shook his head. "By the time I arrived, the Jinchuriki had already exhausted his power and fallen unconscious. But during his rampage, he seemed not to have harmed any other villagers. He only destroyed the surrounding buildings."
Hearing this, the stone in the Third Hokage's heart finally dropped, while the Anbu behind him were also somewhat astonished.
Even while rampaging, the Jinchuriki had been able to control himself and avoid harming villagers. What kind of control was that?
The Third Hokage pondered for a moment before saying, "Kakashi, you did well. Leave the Jinchuriki to me and continue guarding the surrounding area. Report to me at the Hokage Building later."
Kakashi nodded, looking as though he wanted to say something as he watched the unconscious Naruto.
But in the end, he continued his patrol. He also planned to find his two subordinates and ask just how they had protected the Jinchuriki well enough to let him go berserk!
The Third Hokage looked at the unconscious Naruto, then in the direction of the Hyuga Compound. He quietly sighed, his face filled with worry.
The head of the Cloud delegation had been beaten to death in the Hyuga Compound, and now the Jinchuriki had lost control and gone berserk.
Tonight truly was plagued by troubles. Fortunately, Naruto was fairly sensible. Even while rampaging, he had managed to keep control of his mind, sparing him unnecessary trouble.
Otherwise, it might have been another upheaval no less severe than Nine-Tails Night.
My setting is that many people know Naruto is the Jinchuriki, but very few know he is the Fourth Hokage's son. The original work is similar in that regard.
