"This is strange."
Holding the paper money, Ye Fei continued deeper into the corridor.
Ever since she had obtained the strange underworld banknote bearing the word "Auspicious," she had not encountered another supernatural attack.
The corridor was empty.
Though it was still filthy and chaotic, no evil spirits appeared.
"This isn't right."
"There are traces of supernatural activity everywhere."
"But I've been walking for ages without encountering anything."

Was it because all the vicious ghosts had left?
No.
Ye Fei could sense fluctuations of supernatural aura all around her.
By all rights.
There should have been plenty of evil spirits active nearby.
So.
When she could find no reasonable explanation in herself, she turned her gaze to the paper money in her hand.
"Maybe I could test it?"
Ye Fei's eyes flickered a few times, and she suddenly closed her hand.
She put the underworld banknote away.
Nothing unusual happened to the paper money. It was tucked quietly into her bag, just like an ordinary underworld banknote. Yet at that moment, something changed in the darkness around her.
First, a strong, strange odor abruptly spread through the air.
Then.
A horrifying scene
