The fifth floor was quiet.
Bloodstains and bodies were everywhere. The dead were all security personnel, and they had died in all manner of bizarre ways.
But something was strange.
Apart from the female ghost they had encountered at the exit earlier, they had seen no other evil spirits. Instead, they ran into two escaped test subjects.
One had white hair.
The other was bald.
Both were young men.
Both sides got quite a fright when they met in the corridor. The Bald Man in particular couldn't help shouting when he saw the Broken Blade in Xu Yanxing's hand, "I surrender!"
Only after the recorder spoke to reassure them did they relax.
"We were brought to the fifth floor for an experiment."
"The alarm went off before it even started, and all the researchers ran away. We hid in the lab for a long time before we dared come out."
The white-haired young man spoke.
"What happened on the fifth floor? Do you know?" Xu Yanxing asked.
"We heard gunshots and shouts in the corridor earlier, but we wouldn't dare go see what was happening. We waited until everything went completely quiet, then hid a while longer before coming out."
The Bald Man spoke fearfully.
"When we came out, there were bodies everywhere, and vicious ghosts wandering around."
"We wanted to take the chance to escape."
"But we didn't have the courage to go too far, so we kept wandering nearby, hoping to find other test subjects to team up with."
"Are you doing the same?"
"Yes, we only just escaped too," Xu Yanxing said, playing along.
"That's great."
The white-haired man and the Bald Man were delighted.
