Jiang Qiao pieced together the whole sequence of events in his mind.
Although some questions remained unclear, he now had answers to the broad outline and main thread of the affair. This also explained why the Longevity God Church and the Celestial Association had mobilized on such a massive scale.
That Saint's Remnant Soul was not truly a remnant soul.
He could still recover!
And moreover.
The Longevity God Church still had not abandoned its plan. It intended to use the Sage to shoulder part of the source of contamination.
If it succeeded.
Two extremely bizarre Half-Gods would emerge at once!
And what about the Celestial Association?
They, too, had set their sights on the contaminated Half-God—the madman the woman had mentioned. As one of the Return Journey Research Institute's successors, they probably were not targeting the Longevity God Church because it worshipped the Longevity God.
Instead, they wanted to obtain some of the Longevity God's secrets from the church.
Presumably.
The Celestial Association also understood that the Longevity God Church's so-called faith was probably, at its core, an attempt to milk the god for benefits. Having existed for so many years, the church must have learned something about the Longevity God.
Otherwise.
They probably would not have dared undertake this suicidal plan to deliberately infect themselves so readily.
No matter how radical they were.
Anyone who had reached the Half-God level.
Must have had some confidence before putting it into action.
From what I've seen so far.
The underworld, or at least this region around the Nether Sea, regards Deities with both awe and longing. Judging by their use of contaminated objects, they're far bolder than the factions on the surface.
I wonder whether organizations like the Guangming Society and the Old Citizens have also researched Deities.
