"Creak!"
"Creak!"
"Creak!"
The elevator swayed unsteadily, and standing inside it felt extremely unsafe.
The floor numbers changed very slowly.
Starting from the ninth floor and going down—eighth floor, seventh floor, sixth floor... all the way to [-1], [-2]—it would take the equivalent of descending more than a hundred floors to reach [-99].
The elevator wasn't fast, either, and it shuddered every so often.
It was enough to make every second feel like a year.
Wang Yong was a perfect example. He didn't dare press against the wall, approach the large hole, or stand by the door. He was thoroughly restless, his hands and feet at a loss.
Liu Kun looked relatively calm.
But the occasional motion of licking his lips still revealed the tension in his heart.
Compared to how he had looked a few hours ago, when he had gone upstairs to kill people...
He seemed like a completely different person.
Miao Yi, on the other hand, was fairly composed, and no emotional fluctuations could be seen. He merely glanced at the large hole from time to time, as though he were watching for something.
"What are you looking at?"
Jiang Qiao asked.
That was one good thing about him: if he didn't understand something, he asked. Only when he couldn't ask about something did he make his own guesses.
"When I came here last time..."
"Something was crawling beneath this hole."
Miao Yi answered.
"Something was crawling?" Jiang Qiao looked down through the opening.
It was just a normal elevator shaft.
There was nothing there.
"Yes."
"But it didn't invade the elevator car, and I didn't see the main body, either. I only heard faint rustling and crawling sounds. Brother Lin told us to keep an eye on it, but not to disturb it," Miao Yi said.
