As soon as he came downstairs, Jiang Qiao caught the aroma of coffee and roasted meat. Tom, the owner, greeted him enthusiastically. "Hey, young man, come over and try some. Freshly grilled steak."
Besides Tom,
there were two residents of the town in the dining room. One of them, a woman with burgundy hair, caught Jiang Qiao's attention.

But it wasn't completely pure.
And it was fairly faint.
This was very similar to the ordinary Superpower Users in Dragon Country. They had obtained part of a supernatural power but had not truly controlled a Vicious Ghost. To put it simply, they were Ghost Slaves.
"This path clearly has a ceiling."
"They have no future of their own, and they'll also be controlled by the Vicious Ghost."
Jiang Qiao picked up his coffee and took a sip.
He stopped paying attention to the woman.
But the woman had clearly noticed the unfamiliar Asian face that had appeared in the diner.
"A traveler?" the woman asked.
She looked to be in her forties, with an ordinary appearance and quite a few wrinkles on her face. A scarf was tied around her neck, wrapped tightly. Yet faintly, something could be seen wriggling beneath it.

"My car broke down halfway here."
"I called for roadside assistance, but they said they couldn't send anyone until next week."
"That's ridiculous."
Jiang Qiao spoke as though he were helpless.
He really had called, and the actual situation was even worse. They had simply said they couldn't send anyone and told him to figure something out himself. After Jiang Qiao asked several times, they reluctantly said that perhaps someone could come next week.
