"It's gone."
Jiang Qiao raised his head. The vicious ghosts around him had vanished, and the darkness beneath the valley had dispersed. Above the mountain, the sun peeked over the ridgeline, its light washing the snow in gold.
After several battles in succession, dawn had arrived.
"Just as I thought."
"The darkness in the valley was caused by that Paper Well too."
"It's gone."
"And so is that unnatural darkness."
Jiang Qiao felt somewhat relieved.
The well clearly possessed its own ghost domain, but certain restrictions prevented it from fully unfolding, keeping its influence over reality from reaching its peak. Otherwise, weathering its assault would have been far harder.
"This copper bottle is powerful."
"Before it was damaged, it was probably at least Eighth Tier, just like that doll."
"So many terrifying items."
"Where exactly did that vicious ghost get them all?"
The vast majority of supernatural items did not occur naturally. The reasoning was simple: if they really were natural phenomena, how could they look exactly like everyday objects from human society?
Thus, most supernatural items were made by people.
But there lay the problem.
The special ability users of this era did not seem particularly strong. They hardly seemed capable of creating supernatural items of this caliber.
By the same token.
If people could maintain human order with relatively limited strength...
That meant the evil spirits of their era were also limited in how terrifying they could be. Occasionally, something beyond that scale appeared, such as the Supernatural Space that had transported Jiang Qiao from the south to the north, but it was bound to have restrictions of some sort.
It could not expand without restraint.
Jiang Qiao had looked into this too.
The supernatural spaces of this era had very few entrances and exits connecting them to
