Black mist seeped out through the coffin's cracks, writhing and spreading through the air as though it were alive.

The gray blotch was expanding at a visible rate. Fine black blood vessels emerged along its edges, spreading through his body like tree roots.

The blotch had grown from the size of a fist to cover most of his chest. Those black vessels stretched along his arms, collarbone, and abdomen, as if they were about to swallow him whole.
"Damn it!"
"This thing shares the same origin as the coffin. Now it wants to devour me."
Shen Boxia's expression instantly turned grim.
He could feel some kind of connection forming between the coffin and the blotch. As the blotch spread, the supernatural power within him was being drawn away through some invisible channel, flowing toward the coffin!
His body began to stiffen, and his skin took on a layer of ashen gray.
