Jiang Qiao stepped into the cabin, and a ghostly green glow instantly enveloped him.

He found that the cabin was far more spacious than he had imagined.

A straight corridor stretched ahead, with tightly shut wooden doors on either side—perhaps five or six in total. Lanterns hung from the ceiling at even intervals, extending all the way to the bend at the end of the corridor.

These lanterns looked exactly like the one at the bow.

Old and damaged.

Their casings were covered in cracks and stains.

Yet each of them glowed with that oily green light, bathing the entire corridor in a miserable green hue.

The floor beneath his feet was much sturdier than the deck.

Though it still creaked faintly when stepped on, at least it would not give way under a single step. The grain of the planks was clearly visible, dark in color, as though they had been soaked in something, carrying a slick sheen.

Jiang Qiao took two steps forward.

His gaze fell upon the walls lining both sides of the corridor.

The walls were wooden as well, but their surfaces were covered in dense claw marks.

The marks varied in depth.

Some were mere shallow scratches, while others had sunk deeply into the boards, as if they had been gouged out with fingernails.

The scratches ran in chaotic directions.

Some were horizontal, some vertical, and some curved as though left behind during a struggle.

Jiang Qiao even spotted several blackened, dried bloodstains embedded in the gaps of the wood grain.

"This place..."

"Looks like it held someone captive."

"These scratches look like they were made by human fingernails."
