"Run!"
Without a moment's hesitation, Jiang Qiao turned and sprinted toward the cabins.
The monster moved far too quickly in the water, like a cannonball fired from its barrel. It kicked up massive waves as it charged violently toward the side of the ship. Its tongue sliced through the air with a piercing hiss.
It reached the ship almost instantly.
Dragon Tiger Daoist followed close behind. The two had barely rushed into a room when the ship suddenly jolted.
The monster had rammed the hull!
"Boom—!"
The entire ship tilted sharply to the right. Dragon Tiger Daoist lost his footing and slammed into a cabinet in the room. The rotten wooden boards let out an overloaded creak.
The wooden boards snapped on the spot.
"Did it get on the ship?" Dragon Tiger Daoist steadied himself and looked back outside.
"No."
Jiang Qiao stood in the doorway, his gaze fixed on the cabin entrance.
The monster had not climbed aboard. Instead, it had hooked its tongue onto the hull and was trying to drag the ship to a stop. Judging from the vibrations running through the vessel, the damned thing possessed astonishing strength. The ship's forward speed had visibly slowed.
"We can't let it stay hooked to the ship."
Jiang Qiao acted decisively. With a flip of his palm, he prepared to make his move.
But at that moment.
He felt a powerful pulling force.
Then he clearly sensed it.
This ship.
Had suddenly accelerated!
The acceleration came without warning, as though someone had floored the gas pedal. The ship lurched forward, and its speed instantly shot up by a huge margin.
Dragon Tiger Daoist had only just regained his footing.
He was nearly thrown off his feet by the sudden burst of speed and had to grab the nearby wall
