Luo Mo, Vardani, and three other Stone of the Evil Day members were checking the situation along the street.
Other than Vardani, the five of them were ordinary people.
"I've got a creepy feeling, like someone's following us from behind."
Luo Mo looked around.
The surroundings were somewhat dim, carrying an eerie air. Gloomy, icy wind mixed with a faint stench of decay lingered around them, making every step nerve-racking.
They were afraid a Vicious Ghost might suddenly leap out from some corner.
"Don't let your imagination run wild."
"The more you fear something, the more likely it is to happen." A Short Man walking ahead spoke up. "Everything is calm."
"Fine."
"Everything's calm."
Luo Mo did not dare say anything, because he was just a newbie.
He merely became even more vigilant.
In truth, he had a feeling that their group had become cannon fodder.
As far as he knew,
most of those sent out to investigate were ordinary members. There were very few Special Ability Users, and they had all joined the organization within the past year or two.
Not a single veteran member had been deployed.
What the hell!
And more importantly, Balai had clearly promised yesterday that he could become a Special Ability User after attending the meeting.
Yet even after everyone had dispersed, that promise had not been fulfilled.
He went to ask about it.
The answer he received was that there was a temporary change. Several big shots had no time to deal with such trivial matters, and they would discuss it after the patrol was over.

He had actually been stood up!
