Ch. 1701Taking the Initiative

Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying traveled north across the icefield toward World's End while a powerful ghostly presence followed beneath the lake. Jiang Qiao drove it off after it approached, then continued toward the Flame Mountain range.

  • Jiang Qiao analyzed the monster’s earlier attack and concluded it was hiding beneath the ice or unable to leave the water easily.
  • Ten days later, Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying reached the volcanic mountain range known as World's End.
  • Jiang Qiao spotted the blue shadow drawing closer beneath the lake and attacked it with his Dual Pupils Ghost Domain and lightning.
  • Jiang Qiao exposed the ghost’s disguises and challenged it to come onto the ice, but it stayed underwater for hours and then withdrew.
  • Jiang Qiao suspected the unseen ghost might be a Psychic Anomaly and continued toward World's End with Mo Qingying.

Ch. 1702Volcano

Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying explored an enormous volcanic region and found Vicious Ghosts worshiping a mysterious vermilion coffin. After Mo Qingying explained that the ghosts gathered there periodically and that a demigod-level presence watched from the volcano, they decided to wait for the worship to end before crossing.

  • Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying reached a vast, intensely hot volcanic range, and Jiang Qiao chose to follow the crater’s edge rather than cross it.
  • Jiang Qiao collected fire-related plants growing in caves and rock cracks as they traveled around the crater without encountering evil entities.
  • Jiang Qiao spotted countless Vicious Ghosts kneeling before a mountain, where a vermilion lacquered coffin hung in the air.
  • Mo Qingying recalled Ancestor Emperor’s notes that the Vicious Ghosts crawled out of the volcano, worshiped for about three days every seven days, and were watched over by a demigod-level presence.
  • Jiang Qiao agreed with Mo Qingying’s plan to wait two or three days for the Vicious Ghosts to return to the volcano before crossing the open ground.

Ch. 1703People from six hundred years ago

Jiang Qiao investigated a strange passage beneath the volcano and considered its links to the underworld and Great Qi’s origins. Then three living Second Tier men emerged from a fissure, and Mo Qingying recognized them as experts from six hundred years ago.

  • Jiang Qiao discovered a vortex passage beneath the lava and wondered whether it connected to Deathfire Hell.
  • Jiang Qiao pieced together possible links between Great Qi, Medicine King City, Tongling Island, and the Nether Ancient World, and questioned why other past experts were absent from the records.
  • Mo Qingying pointed out three living men emerging from a cliff fissure, and Jiang Qiao noticed they seemed unaffected by the deadly volcanic environment despite being only Second Tier.
  • The three men spotted the coffin and began descending toward the prostrating Evil Spirits.
  • Mo Qingying recognized the men as top experts from the Great Ancestor’s era and said the man in purple had taught her fist techniques when she was young.

Ch. 1704Something Was Wrong with the Living

Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying watched three mysterious men approach the Evil Spirits, only to discover that they were living people who were killed immediately. After the Evil Spirits completed their worship and entered the volcano, Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying continued toward the Abyss boundary and the legendary Outer Heaven.

  • Mo Qingying explained that three families connected to Tongling Island had been purged during Emperor Tai Zong's reign, leaving no records of their secrets.
  • A Vicious Ghost attacked the three men, and they were unable to resist before it tore them apart.
  • Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying realized the dead men had living bodies, unlike the Vicious Ghosts of Great Qi, and considered whether they were Mirror Men carrying extracted memories.
  • The Evil Spirits finished worshiping, climbed into the volcano, and left a burning incense stick before the coffin.
  • Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying set off toward the Abyss boundary, with the void of Outer Heaven visible in the distance.

Ch. 1705World's End

Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying climbed through the corpse-filled mountains of World's End, where strange forces conjured visions of a lost history. Mo Qingying's Dual Pupils dispelled the illusions, revealing that they had reached the mountaintop and World's End.

  • Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying crossed a gloomy valley filled with ancient corpses, ruined stone arrays, and empty coffins.
  • As they climbed, Jiang Qiao sensed a danger like that of a Forbidden Zone and resolved to keep exploring for answers and greater power.
  • Jiang Qiao reflected on his enemies, the coming changes in the Supernatural World, and his questions about his homeland and transmigration.
  • Strange illusions surrounded Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying, making the mountain path seem to vanish into fragments of history.
  • Jiang Qiao declared that the illusions were not real, and Mo Qingying opened her Dual Pupils to dispel them.
  • Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying found themselves at the mountaintop, where they had arrived at World's End.

Ch. 17061706: The Imperial Family from Years Ago

Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying reached the World's End, where they encountered Mo Qingying’s missing Ninth Imperial Uncle, now a powerful Vicious Ghost. He demanded that Mo Qingying kneel and Jiang Qiao be sent into the Abyss, so Jiang Qiao attacked him.

  • Jiang Qiao pulled Mo Qingying back from the cliff after the World's End’s void stirred an urge to leap into it.
  • Ninth Imperial Uncle appeared behind them, and Mo Qingying recognized him as the ninth son of the Ancestor Emperor who had vanished six hundred years earlier.
  • Jiang Qiao identified Ninth Imperial Uncle as a powerful Vicious Ghost who had seemingly reached the Ninth Rank.
  • Ninth Imperial Uncle said he was waiting for the Ancestor Emperor to return from Outer Heaven and ordered Jiang Qiao to leave.
  • Ninth Imperial Uncle accused Mo Qingying of bringing an outsider and ordered her to kneel and Jiang Qiao to be bound and sent into the Abyss.
  • Jiang Qiao refused and attacked Ninth Imperial Uncle.

Ch. 1707Slaying the Imperial Family Elder

Jiang Qiao overwhelmed and killed the Ninth Imperial Uncle of Great Qi at the World's End. Mo Qingying watched, convinced that Jiang Qiao’s strength might let them explore Outer Heaven before the Void Realm shattered.

  • Jiang Qiao attacked the Ninth Imperial Uncle with the Thunder Art and shattered his sword defenses with a lightning-charged punch.
  • Jiang Qiao pursued the wounded old man and battered him with repeated blows, while Mo Qingying watched in astonishment.
  • Mo Qingying reflected that she had invited Jiang Qiao to explore Outer Heaven because Great Qi faced the Void Realm’s collapse in a few years.
  • The Ninth Imperial Uncle failed to counterattack as Jiang Qiao’s strikes suppressed his power and broke his body.
  • Jiang Qiao merged with the Thunder Spirit and engulfed the old man in a ball of lightning, killing him.

Ch. 1708Iron Chain Bridge

Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying found the iron chain bridge recorded in the Grand Ancestor’s notes and examined its mysterious marks and surroundings. With their supernatural perception gone, Jiang Qiao used his Dual Pupils to study the void, then questioned whether the cliff was infinitely deep and what might lie across the bridge.

  • Jiang Qiao told Mo Qingying that the old man was dead and pointed out a possible route to Outer Heaven: an iron chain bridge below the cliff.
  • Mo Qingying recognized the bridge from the Grand Ancestor’s notes and explained that its head bore forty-nine marks from attempted hacking.
  • Jiang Qiao examined the heavy chains and fragile boards, speculating that a half-god and a taboo weapon might have been involved.
  • Mo Qingying asked whether they should cross, but Jiang Qiao paused to observe the void with his Dual Pupils after both of their supernatural perceptions vanished.
  • Jiang Qiao studied the sheer cliff and wondered whether it had an actual bottom or was infinitely deep, and what the bridge and its far shore meant in a true void.

Ch. 1709The Chou God's attention

Jiang Qiao crossed the iron-chain bridge at World's End and discovered a mysterious new form of perception, while his Dual Pupils revealed possible traces of other paths and travelers. As he wondered whether a deity had built the bridge, the Simulator warned that the Chou God had noticed him.

  • Jiang Qiao stepped onto the iron-chain bridge and found that he could no longer feel his body, though he could still move and perceive his surroundings through a detached consciousness.
  • Jiang Qiao sensed the bridge’s history of prosperity and decay, along with Mo Qingying’s aura and emotions, without actively investigating them.
  • Jiang Qiao continued forward and saw nonexistent branches, other bridges, and figures through his Dual Pupils, including a woman who vanished into the Abyss.
  • Jiang Qiao considered whether deities had built the bridge and questioned why the supernatural path was said to end at Half-Gods despite the existence of deities.
  • The Simulator opened by itself and warned Jiang Qiao that the Chou God had turned its attention toward him.

Ch. 1710Mysterious Information

Jiang Qiao learned that the chain bridge was a historical remnant tied to the Day of Heaven's Collapse, and that Chou God had noticed him because he carried its mark. As Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying explored the bridge, they saw a mysterious figure appear ahead of them.

  • Jiang Qiao read that Chou God had awakened and gone mad after seeing the Red Moon during the Day of Heaven's Collapse.
  • Jiang Qiao realized the world around World's End might be a materialized remnant of the era when the Nether Sea formed, and resolved to be wary of Chou God's attention and help.
  • Mo Qingying sensed people moving beneath the chain bridge and suggested that they might be walking normally on its other side.
  • Jiang Qiao reasoned that the bridge's apparent up and down might not reflect the space they were in, then noticed a filthy, tattered figure ahead reaching off the chain.

Ch. 1711Grandpa?

Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying crossed the iron-chain bridge at the World's End, encountering a strange beggar ghost and supernatural objects that affected their perceptions. As they approached a faceless memorial portrait, they both felt it was familiar, and Jiang Qiao saw the image of a noble middle-aged man whom he recognized as Grandpa.

  • Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying followed a beggar-like ghost across the bridge while discussing whether its shadow beneath the bridge was its true form.
  • Jiang Qiao spotted dust and an oval symbol on a plank and connected it to the strange descriptions of the space beneath the Void Abyss.
  • They found a faceless memorial portrait, and Mo Qingying felt she had left it there despite having never visited the bridge before.
  • Jiang Qiao told Mo Qingying to keep walking, saying she had already been targeted by a curse.
  • As they drew nearer, Jiang Qiao saw a smiling, noble middle-aged man take shape in the portrait and recognized him as Grandpa.

Ch. 1712Grandfather's Methods

Jiang Qiao asked Mo Qingying about the Great Qi Great Ancestor after they recognized the figure in the photograph, and she described the supernatural battle memory her grandfather had left behind. Her account ended with the Great Ancestor picking up a withered thumb left where the evil spirit had vanished.

  • Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying confirmed they had seen the same person in the photograph and considered how it could have come to be in World's End.
  • Mo Qingying recalled how the Great Ancestor transported her and more than twenty grandchildren to Million Copper Mountain in a Ghost Domain to observe an evil spirit.
  • The Great Ancestor told the descendants to remember the scene, then made the red, incense-seeking evil spirit disappear in an instant.
  • Mo Qingying explained that the battle memory could only be sensed at Seventh Tier, seen at Eighth Tier, and witnessed in full at Ninth Rank; she was the only descendant to reach Seventh and Eighth Tier.
  • Mo Qingying described her incomplete Eighth Tier vision of the Great Ancestor changing into a rotting corpse and ghostly figures restraining the evil spirit with twisted fingers.
  • The evil spirit shrank until only a withered thumb remained, and the Great Ancestor picked it up.

Ch. 1713Phantoms Become Reality

Jiang Qiao’s approach to the photograph caused the Great Qi Great Ancestor and a crowd from the bridge’s past to appear in reality. Separated from Mo Qingying, Jiang Qiao tried to question the hostile pedestrians before a group carrying a coffin confronted him.

  • Jiang Qiao suspected Mo Qingying could not perceive the Great Qi Great Ancestor’s true methods and decided to press on toward the photograph despite his unease.
  • As Jiang Qiao neared the photograph, the bridge changed around him and figures from its past grew vivid and lifelike.
  • Jiang Qiao saw the Great Qi Great Ancestor walking among the crowd and noticed a silver bell on his foot, but looking at it with his Dual Pupils caused pain and the Ancestor vanished.
  • The crowd appeared around Jiang Qiao, while Mo Qingying disappeared; he found that the pedestrians were living and repeatedly cursed him when he tried to ask questions.
  • A group of men in white robes carrying lanterns and a coffin approached Jiang Qiao, shouting at him to get out of their way.

Ch. 1714The Coffin Bearers

Jiang Qiao was trapped inside a vermilion coffin carried by a strange procession on the chain bridge. He used Time Rewind to escape and reappeared on the bridge.

  • Jiang Qiao noticed the coffin bearers and their lanterns seemed supernatural, and recognized the coffin as similar to one worshiped by evil spirits.
  • When the procession stopped beside him, Jiang Qiao shoved into the crowd and tried to flee, but a lantern bearer told him he did not belong there.
  • A black veil surrounded Jiang Qiao and turned into coffin boards, trapping him inside the coffin.
  • Jiang Qiao's attacks passed through the coffin boards, so he used his Dual Pupils to erase the coffin and its surroundings from his vision.
  • Jiang Qiao activated Time Rewind, shattered the strange space, and reappeared on the chain bridge.

Ch. 1715The Similar Ship

Jiang Qiao broke free of the photograph’s illusion on the chain bridge and rescued Mo Qingying, then connected a coffin’s ship carvings to the Ghost Ship on his Fate Treasure Map and questioned the Chou God’s role in his past. A warm breeze and a lively procession of gongs and drums then sounded behind them.

  • Jiang Qiao realized the photograph had trapped him and Mo Qingying in an illusion, and suspected its curse fell short of Half-God level.
  • Jiang Qiao noticed Mo Qingying’s shoes had changed, explained that she had been affected too, and gave her Supernatural Items that let her move with Ghost Domain-like speed.
  • Jiang Qiao found the photograph’s curse had vanished, picked it up, and continued with Mo Qingying along the empty chain bridge.
  • Jiang Qiao recalled that the ship carved on the coffin resembled the Ghost Ship on his Fate Treasure Map and wondered whether it sailed the Nether Sea.
  • Jiang Qiao questioned whether the Chou God had deliberately lent him power before and considered his connection to the Red Moon.
  • A warm breeze crossed the bridge, and Jiang Qiao heard gongs and drums from behind him.

Ch. 1716Ghost Wedding Procession (The Eve of the Ghost Festival)

Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying heard joyful wedding music behind them and mournful funeral music ahead on an empty bridge, prompting Jiang Qiao to recognize the danger of a red-and-white collision. The chapter explains ghost wedding and funeral processions before leaving the origin of a ghost funeral procession about to be revealed.

  • Jiang Qiao looked back after hearing wedding music but saw no procession on the bridge.
  • Mo Qingying noticed movement ahead, where mournful music sounded from the empty bridge.
  • Jiang Qiao recalled that red and white processions colliding were considered an ill omen.
  • The narration described ghost marriages and ghost wedding processions, in which supernatural beings lured people to their deaths.
  • The narration introduced ghost funeral processions as a separate supernatural phenomenon and began recounting a strange incident from many years earlier.

Ch. 1717Earthquake Oddities

Jiang Qiao recounted strange folklore surrounding an old earthquake, including fissures that swallowed people or brought things out. A band of bandits investigating a newly opened fissure spotted a silent, impossibly shifting procession approaching them, and the chapter ended as the rest of the bandits noticed it too.

  • Jiang Qiao noted rumors of unusual signs before the earthquake, including fleeing animals, rippling wells, out-of-season fruit, a mad Daoist, and a predictive children's rhyme.
  • A group of bandits found a new, deep fissure and lowered rats into it before sending three men down to investigate.
  • A fourteen- or fifteen-year-old bandit watched the road while his companions waited by the fissure.
  • The young bandit saw a long procession with faint lanterns appear on the road without making a sound.
  • The procession abruptly moved to the mountain's foot and seemed to stretch endlessly, and the other bandits also saw it.

Ch. 1718Ghost Funeral Procession

A young bandit survived a Ghost Funeral Procession that preceded a devastating earthquake, though his family and home were destroyed. In the present, Jiang Qiao and Mo Qingying sensed a Ghost Wedding Procession and a Ghost Funeral Procession nearing each other, and Jiang Qiao ordered them to separate the two.

  • A fifteen-year-old bandit watched a Ghost Funeral Procession enter a fissure, carrying bones and followed by the dead.
  • The fissure vanished the next day, and a massive earthquake later destroyed the bandit hideout and surrounding villages while the young man survived.
  • The young man left to find safety, later joined the army, and died at Xifengkou thirteen years later.
  • Jiang Qiao explained that Ghost Wedding Processions and Ghost Funeral Processions were real, dangerous supernatural phenomena in this world.
  • Mo Qingying sensed the two processions approaching, and Jiang Qiao ordered her to take the initiative and break them apart.

Ch. 1719Piercing Through the Medium

Jiang Qiao destroyed the wedding procession’s embroidered-shoe medium, causing both ghost processions to vanish, but the funeral’s memorial tablet pulled him into a supernatural distortion during his time rewind. He arrived at his intended temporal destination and found the scene before him was not what he expected.

  • Jiang Qiao used his Dual Pupils, lightning, and Evil Spirit Body to expose the wedding procession’s embroidered shoes and kick them into submission.
  • Jiang Qiao observed that the funeral procession had vanished and left a memorial tablet, which he suspected was its medium.
  • Jiang Qiao blasted the memorial tablet off the bridge, but saw characters appear on it as distorted images and scenery began to pull him into another space.
  • Jiang Qiao activated Time Rewind, but a supernatural force distorted his temporal coordinates in World's End.
  • Jiang Qiao completed the three-minute rewind to his intended destination, then was stunned by what he saw.

Ch. 1720Back to the Past?

Jiang Qiao found himself in Bin City on July 31, nearly ten years in the past, and could not determine whether he had entered real history, a fragment, or an illusion. With the Survivor System gone but the Simulator still working, he decided to investigate the world and discovered he might be able to connect to the Red Moon Restaurant.

  • Jiang Qiao recognized Bin City and confirmed that its streets, people, and date matched the day he had first arrived on Blue Star.
  • Jiang Qiao checked the Simulator and found it functioning, but it offered no new information beyond his character introduction.
  • Jiang Qiao considered whether a Deity had sent him into the past, a historical fragment, or another reality, but found no way to confirm any explanation.
  • Jiang Qiao decided to search for abnormalities and investigate secrets from before Supernatural Revival.
  • Jiang Qiao noticed that the Survivor System had disappeared while the Simulator remained, and sensed that he could connect to the Red Moon Restaurant.
