In the end, Konan still left the office.
She had previously worried that her identity might cause trouble for others. Even with a pass, she was still an outsider.
Now that she had the higher-grade-looking pass Uzumaki Suika had given her, there should not be any problem.
In a room high above, Uzumaki Suika and Kakuzu watched Konan leave Naruto's office, their expressions each different.
"Is it really okay to let her wander around Wave Country like that?"
Uzumaki Suika asked with concern in her voice.
Although she and Konan had acted as though they had hit it off at first sight, that had mainly been to test each other's attitudes.
Though the other woman's emotions and attitude had not seemed fake, there was still a chance that it had all been an act. After all, she had come carrying Exploding Tags. For Wave Country's safety, it was never wrong to be cautious.
Kakuzu shook his head and said helplessly, "It's the leader's order. He said something about 'having weathered countless hardships' and 'a merry-go-round.' I didn't understand any of it, but it seems the leader intends to recruit Konan."
"Recruit her? I don't think the chances of success are very high."
Thinking back on their earlier conversation, Uzumaki Suika continued, "Although we only exchanged a few words, from what I observed, Konan may indeed be very interested in life in Wave Country now. But she does not seem like someone with strong opinions. Major decisions are probably usually left to that injured member of the Uzumaki Clan."
"Come to think of it, wasn't Uncle Kakuzu once part of Akatsuki too? How come I've never heard you mention that Akatsuki had someone from the Uzumaki Clan?"
Uzumaki Suika looked at Kakuzu with a puzzled expression.
Ever since learning Kakuzu's true
