The Land of Snow lay near the polar regions, an island nation in the northern seas of the Ninja World.
It was situated in the waters between the Land of Lightning and the Land of Iron.
Although the rocket launch had not caused much of a commotion, the trail of flame produced by its exhaust was incomparably conspicuous in the dark night. How could it possibly have gone unnoticed?
Many people noticed the flames cutting through the night, but very few paid them any real attention.
"Mabui, can you make out what that is?"
Yugito watched the flames gradually turn into a tiny point of light in her field of vision, her expression somewhat weary.
Kumogakure's rebels had been suppressed time and again, yet they were like cockroaches—kill one, and a whole nest came crawling out.
It left her, as the Raikage, more than a little exhausted.
Mabui lowered the high-powered telescope in her hands, equally puzzled. "It's something long and cylindrical. There are words written on it, but I can't make them out clearly."
"It should have been launched from the Land of Snow. Its target seems to be... the moon?"
"The moon?" Yugito was somewhat surprised. "That thing can fly all the way to the moon?"
"I'm not entirely sure about that, but the Land of Snow has developed its Scientific Ninja Tools rather well." Mabui frowned slightly.
"Can a place like the Land of Snow even develop Scientific Ninja Tools?"
Yugito had never left the village before. After taking office, she had immediately begun suppressing the rebellion, leaving her with no time to learn about the surrounding small nations. She knew very little about the Land of Snow.
Mabui nodded. "I had the Anbu investigate the Land of Snow before."
"Why did you investigate the Land of
