Naruto watched Jiraiya expressionlessly as he stood atop Gama Ken's head, left hand extended forward, right palm held behind him, crouched in that comical, ridiculous pose. The corner of Naruto's mouth twitched slightly.
Jiraiya was not a bad person, and his goofy demeanor actually made him rather likable. It was merely a matter of opposing positions, and Naruto truly disliked the man's arrogance as well.
Jiraiya bit open his palm, using his blood to draw two lines across his face. Then, he brought his wrists together and pressed his palms in a hand seal.
"Gama Ken, I need to enter Sage Mode and summon the Two Great Sages. During that time, I won't be able to separate my hands. I'll have to trouble you to buy me some time."
"What... I understand. Though I'm quite useless, I'll do my best to hold him off."
Gama Ken's frog eyes widened slightly, and a thin sheen of cold sweat had already appeared on his forehead.
"Aren't you going out to say hello?"
Naruto asked Minato Namikaze inwardly. He had not blocked the Sealing Space's view of the outside world, so Minato had witnessed everything that had happened since receiving the news.
Minato Namikaze's expression became somewhat complicated. He had originally intended to pretend he had seen nothing, but Naruto had unexpectedly called him out anyway. Naruto really wanted to twist the knife.
"If I stop you, will you spare Jiraiya-sensei?"
"No. I merely wanted you to say goodbye to him."
Naruto's answer was straightforward. He had only wanted to see whether there would be a scene of a loving master and dutiful disciple. After all, wasn't Hokage killing their masters a tradition? But it seemed he would not get to see it.
Minato Namikaze's expression did not change upon hearing Naruto's answer.
