History

Founding and early rule

Great Yuan was founded around seven hundred years before the early narrative. Its founding monarch emerged after a prolonged period of decline in both Martial Dao and sorcerer cultivation, swept demons and monsters from the land, and established the dynasty. The founder's exact path—Martial Saint or Sorcerer—was not preserved in the historical record. 79

The dynasty originally governed nine provinces. Its capital, Kyoto, lies at the convergence of the Nine Dragons and possesses exceptionally dense spirit veins. 14 107

Great Yuan had previously endured three major demon calamities. Each was ultimately suppressed while the dynasty possessed both a Martial Saint and a Second Grade Sorcerer; by the Longzheng era, it had neither, leaving the realm vulnerable to a renewed disaster. 79

Decline of the Longzheng era

During the later Longzheng Emperor's reign, court factions competed for power while the Emperor neglected governance. The Heavenly Born Cult and Paradise Cult exploited this disorder, infiltrating the capital, noble estates, officials, and even martial artists of the Eight Great Sects. 42 48

The Sky Barrier surrounding the Wusheng Domain weakens once every thousand years. Outer Domain cultivators use these openings to enter the domain, treating it as both a training ground and a source of ancient secret-realm inheritances; they also seek to suppress local cultivation inheritances through periodic “cleansing.” 140

Wu Zhao's ascension

After the Demon King's descent and the Longzheng Emperor's death, Chen Mu recovered the Nine Yuan Seal and selected Wuan Princess as the new sovereign. Her blood was accepted by the Seal and by the spirits of Great Yuan's previous emperors. 135

Wuan Princess ascended under the imperial title Wu Zhao. In the following years, she gradually took control of court affairs, resolved problems left by her predecessor, and earned genuine support from civil and military officials. 136 138

Rise as an Immortal Dynasty

After Chen Mu became a True Lord, Great Yuan's cultivation environment and political standing changed fundamentally. Kyoto expanded into an Immortal City, while cultivators and sects began to emerge throughout the realm. 194 195 230

Hundreds of Golden Core True Persons later gathered in Kyoto for Chen Mu's lecture. Their arrival strengthened Great Yuan's destiny, and the rapid emergence of five new Golden Core cultivators marked Da Yuan's rise as an immortal sacred land. 204 205

Government and Institutions

Imperial authority

The Emperor is the bearer of Great Yuan's national destiny and the wielder of the Nine Yuan Seal. Xi Yu's cultivation is closely aligned with the dynasty's destiny; while inside Great Yuan, she can employ techniques comparable to those of a True Lord, though her strength would decline if the dynasty itself weakened. 205 230
