The next day, after Mo Hua finished class in the Lecture Hall, he was packing up his Jade Slips and books to return to the Disciple Quarters when he looked up and saw a child at the doorway waving to him.
"Mo Hua, Elder Xun wants you to come over."
Mo Hua was slightly startled, then nodded. "All right."
As he walked along the long mountain steps of Void Mountain, Mo Hua could not shake an uneasy feeling. He quietly asked the child:
"What is it this time?"
The child shook his head honestly. "I don't know."
"Was Elder Xun angry this time?"
"Angry..." The child frowned, then shook his head again. "But not quite. He looked very serious, as though something major had happened. Even Elder Xun was trembling with fear."
"Elder Xun?"
"Elder Xun Ziyou. He is the old ancestor's great-grandson and serves as an elder in the Inner Sect."
Mo Hua nodded slightly, committing the name to memory.
These words... sounded extremely familiar. It was not the first time he had heard them...
Yet unexpectedly, it was good news.
"Mm." Elder Xun nodded faintly, his gaze wistful. "Back then, this old friend once visited our Void Gate. We sat together for a Dao Discussion and exchanged insights on array formations. This manuscript records some of the thoughts and realizations from those exchanges..."
Mo Hua nodded. "All right."
Mo Hua was quite surprised. He had thought Elder Xun had discovered some "bad deed" of his again and wanted to scold him.
The child looked somewhat guilty.
Elder Xun said, "It belonged to an old friend."
"Who knows..." Walking ahead, the child suddenly turned back and whispered, "Mo Hua, I broke the Little Tiger you gave me again..."
"An old friend?"
The child looked embarrassed
