"Hmm, your name is... Sethi, right?"
The front door of the Cat and Whiskers Inn opened a narrow crack, and Roman poked half an eye through it, gazing with intense curiosity at the somewhat dazed-looking girl standing outside.
She did not care how strange it was for a living person to suddenly appear on the road outside the inn at this hour. Everyone else had gone out, and there was no one to chat with her. Brando was absent, and given Dirfiel's condition, Bai Lu would not let her disturb him. As for the Chancellor's daughter, Roman was quite interested in that obviously brilliant girl, but unfortunately, after speaking with her for only a few sentences, the latter had refused to pay her any more attention.
Earlier, she had spent half an hour watching the river flowing outside the inn, but that sort of thing always grew tiresome. Now that someone had come to keep her company, she was delighted.
Sethi shuddered before finally nodding with a pale face.
"Did you lose something?"
"No... nothing."
"But you don't usually come to the inn at night."
"I..."
Roman suddenly found this interesting. She opened the door, grabbed Sethi by the hand, and pulled her inside. Then she blinked at her smugly. "Don't take it the wrong way. Brando told me to be careful."
The poor girl was so startled that her heart seemed to stop for a beat. Her mind immediately filled with chaotic thoughts. Wasn't he only telling you to be a little careful?
But Roman did not seem to care at all. "Sethi is one of us, so I thought it should be fine for her to come."
The Merchant's Daughter's enthusiasm and utterly unreserved trust made Sethi's heart pound. This was completely different from what she had expected.
