Bring the gods back to the mortal world.
Brando's heart clenched. To outsiders, this sentence might sound like a secret about returning to the Age of the Gods.
But to players, it was entirely different—
In The Amber Sword, this was a slogan: bring the gods back to the mortal world. It did not mean allowing Martha's gods to descend upon the earth once more, but opening an entirely new era and allowing mortals to ascend to godhood.
When players could perfect the Silver Body, the gods would return to the earth. But this time, they would no longer be Martha's gods, nor part of Tiamat's lineage. They would be gods born from mortals.
Brando suddenly felt that he had grasped the secret. But before he could speak, Fias, sitting on top of his head, could not hold back her curiosity and asked, "But where is that door?"
The question made Brando so delighted that he nearly picked up the little faerie and kissed her hard. She had asked it at exactly the right time—so perfectly that his worry that others might see through his intentions vanished completely.
It was not that he was being overly cautious. The matter was simply too important, important enough that he had no choice but to guard the secret carefully.
He had not forgotten the horrors of the Tablet War. To seize the world's ultimate secret, the wizards had cast aside all restraint.
But this time, Lute still shook his head. "Perhaps no one knows."
"No one knows?" Fias was a little disappointed. "How boring."
"History itself is serious." Feeling that his authority had been challenged, Lute immediately frowned and raised his voice. "Besides, it is not as if there are no clues. At the very least, I know that someone knows this secret."
