"How could it be that big..."
Rute stared in a daze. His tiny pupils were almost completely filled by the enormous purple vortex as he muttered to himself.
No one looked particularly well, and even Fae Lady and White Mist wore grim expressions.
The Fang Sea Folk fleet sounded the horn first. A pale-yellow barrier spread from its flagship, enveloping all the ships.
Brando soon saw the Lightning Storm Rute had described. It looked like purple bolts of lightning appearing out of nowhere in the air, but each one stretched for miles. When they swept across the sky, they resembled a raging wave of electric charges surging toward the fleet.
The lightning dragged across the barrier, making it shake violently under the terrifying force. Fortunately, the lightning moved extremely fast and swept past in the blink of an eye. After a violent tremor, the barrier finally held and returned to normal.
Following the Fang Sea Folk fleet was the Mist Clan. The Mist Elder stood at the bow of the Dragon Head Battleship, holding a heavy, rust-covered trident. He hurled it forward with all his strength. The trident struck the purple lightning sweeping toward the Mist Clan and split it in two, but the scattered electric charges still struck the rear of their fleet. Several battleships instantly shattered, spinning into the void together with the Tirmosians aboard.
The Lightning Storm continued forward, reaching the Everwinter Port fleet in the blink of an eye.
Brando tilted his head back and watched the power of the world. Though it had been greatly weakened, it remained breathtakingly magnificent. Yet at that moment, he slowly opened his mouth, because this was not a simple electrical discharge. It was the vast energy released when chaotic mana leaped from a higher order to a lower order
