A silver-haired woman landed on a rock. She stood naked in the drizzle, cold light reflected in her amber eyes. Expressionless, she watched the scene, but had no intention of taking another step forward.
A huge silver tail swayed gently behind her.
In her gaze, the fleeing humans wound their way through the river valley, looking from afar like a column of ants—as though they could be crushed effortlessly with a single squeeze of the hand.
"After dozens of centuries, mortals have actually fallen to this state. Just what did that woman create? Neither human nor ghost—disgusting." She muttered to herself.
"Isn't that right, Tymiss?"
"Yes." She nodded, answering her own question.
"Then shall we kill them?"
"Yes, but wait a while. Let's see whether that woman's Willpower is still here."
"It doesn't matter. I can no longer sense their presence, Tymiss."
"But her Willpower is still here. There's still an unpleasant aura in this land." Tymiss shook her head.
"We'll know soon enough." She spoke again.
The black carpet was less than five miles from the nearest town, and the Head Wolf at the very front had already crossed the tacit boundary between humans and the Undead.
But that was precisely when it happened.
All of a sudden, the black tide seemed to slam into an invisible wall. A wave of blood was reflected in the silver-haired woman's eyes, and the Alpha Wolf leading the pack was torn apart, exploding into a mass of blood.
The wave of blood spread backward from the very front of the black tide. Like ripples spreading through water, it moved from front to back, turning tens of thousands of black wolves into nothingness in an instant.
The blood wave spread to within ten meters of the woman. She watched fragments of bone, flesh,
