It was a silver network suspended in a pitch-black void. Beneath it lay an azure continent.
Cumulonimbus clouds in the troposphere, a crystal-clear sapphire ocean, and a continent the color of walnut skin glimmered faintly, spread out like a square tablecloth across the darkness. Beneath the three of them, it extended in every direction, reaching into the endless black.
Gwendolyn saw the plains of Cruz, the dense forests of Saint Osore, and the mountains of Fanzan, as well as the Ailanta Archipelago drifting beyond the continent. To the east stretched the boundless Great Glacier, its white ice cap covering the fragmented land. To the south lay a stretch of pitch-black earth, while the Dead Moon Inner Sea glittered beneath the sunlight.
Farther away, other continents were scattered across the ocean like specks.
She recognized the place at a glance.
This was Vonder.
The elemental barrier had vanished. The entire world appeared beneath their feet. Above the Tiamat Law, they had already passed beyond the elemental boundary.
But Brando saw something else as well.
Across that silver-shimmering network, some things emitted scattered points of light. They floated above the Tiamat Law, as if together forming a gigantic array.
Nearby, some wreckage drifted through the void. They were parts of the bodies of enormous, shattered beasts, gleaming with a metallic sheen.
Human bodies and monster corpses floated among the wreckage. They had frozen into ice, but a few could still be identified. Brando recognized them at a glance as the Min'er People. There were other races too, such as the Dawn People and dragons. Still others were completely unfamiliar to him, never having appeared in any myth or legend he had heard.
