"Where are we now?" Brando asked again.
Tagus lowered his head and glanced at the compass. "North of Rosalin. Judging from the landmarks along the western coastline, we should be somewhere not far from Jade Hills."
"Shouldn't this route be very busy?"
"In theory, yes. But perhaps because of this blasted fog, the fleet from the direction of Swallow Plain has also been stopped on the other side of it."
"Mr. Instaron, is there any theoretical basis for that statement?"
"It is merely my speculation, beautiful lady."
Delphine went to the other side of the ship's rail, her gaze sweeping across the jagged coastline west of Wagtail Strait. There was an unbroken stretch of sea cliffs and reefs, with the waves smashing against the rocks and forming a fine white line.
The western coast of Wagtail Strait was rugged and riddled with reefs and shoals. That was also why this region was so wild. Otherwise, it would never have been so much more barren than Swallow Plain, just across the sea.
Still, the coastline was not completely without good ports. Otherwise, there would be no route to speak of. Rosalin was one such port, at least, while farther north lay the territories and deepwater ports of the Undead Lords.
"What are you looking at?"
The others were not very familiar with Delphine, but Brando's relationship with her had grown closer by now. Seeing her expression, he immediately realized that she must have thought of something.
"Something is strange."
"Strange?"
The Chancellor's daughter nodded lightly. She gestured to a sailor nearby—although this was an undead fleet, it still had professional sailors. Some had inherited the knowledge they possessed in life, while others had been trained afterward. Madara had its own navy as well; otherwise, it could never have crossed the sea
