The Golden Kin had the blood of warriors flowing through their veins. This was by no means a joke, because they had been born to exist for battle, and the Golden Kin themselves often regarded it as an honor.

They were the warriors of the gods.

The gods had created the Golden People to resist the Twilight, and to manage and preserve records. Compared with the Silver People, who were more like scholars than warriors—though the Silver Elves, the best fighters among them, also guarded many rituals and cultures—the Golden People had been the Order world's primary counteroffensive force in the age when its glory still remained.

But the gods' true purpose in creating the Golden People had been to create a race that possessed the power of the divine people while also existing in enormous numbers. Only then could they oppose the equally enormous Twilight Legion.

This process had not been accomplished in one stroke. Over the long years, the divine people had made many attempts, but quality and quantity always seemed difficult to balance. Before a few mature and powerful late-stage members of the Golden Kin, such as the dragons, appeared, the gods and the divine people had actually explored many different approaches. Some of the species born from these attempts had not been members of the Golden Kin at all.

It was not until the divine people had finally found a solution—creating the Min'er People, whose actual strength was not great but whose potential surpassed that of all the Golden People—and formulated the Mortal Project based on that concept that they finally succeeded.
