"Sister!" Lian cried out in delight. The girl, however, seemed completely unmoved. She merely pulled Lian up from the ground, then said calmly, "Come with me."

"Sister, wait!"

Lian called out, then hurried over to Loot the Fae. Carefully, she picked him up and placed him back inside her hood.

"Thank you, Mr. Fae! Thank you, I found my sister!" she kept saying, tears glistening in her eyes.

Loot had originally helped the little girl purely out of the Fae's instinct to meddle in other people's business. Besides, he was the Prince of the Fire Fae, naturally proud and brimming with a sense of justice. Yet when faced with the little girl's gratitude, his heart warmed. He felt that perhaps his trip to the Material Plane had not been in vain after all.

The girl, however, had no intention of giving the two of them much time to dwell on their emotions. When she saw her sister pick up the Fae, she walked over, took her hand, and led her toward the rear door behind the pulpit. In fact, that was also where she had appeared moments ago.
