Count Gonzalez frowned as he watched the Nigellians' Floating Fleet. The massive fleet had been acting strangely for some time. Though it still maintained its diamond formation, it had nearly stopped bombarding the ground.
The enemy was continually gaining altitude, which was not a good sign for them.
However, Valhalla's Magic Shield still remained, and the Sasar people could do nothing about it.
Count Gonzalez paced restlessly across the deck of his flagship—until a messenger hurried over, carrying a Crystal Ball. He began, "My lord, Earl of Yanbao's communication—"
Gonzalez waved him off impatiently. "Tell him to get lost. I don't have time to listen to him whine like a woman."
Then he asked, "Have you contacted Lord Hollis?"
"No, my lord." The messenger shook his head. "The magic formation above the Tonigellian fortress has been active for several minutes, but no message has come through."
"What about the gargoyles we sent out?"
"They haven't returned either, my lord."
Gonzalez turned around and paced several steps beside his desk, his brows tightly furrowed. At last, he stopped and said, "Have Baron Dale speak with me. I want to see what the hell that fellow is up to."
The messenger immediately activated the Crystal Ball. Baron Dale's anxious voice came through at once. "Lord Gonzalez, thank goodness! I've finally reached you. This is an excellent opportunity. I need the support of your fleet!"
"What did you say?"
"My Crystal Cluster Army has broken through the outer defenses of that fortress. We're directly north of it. You should be able to see the gap in that direction. My invincible army of the gifted is preparing to attack, but I need your help."
"What kind of help do you need?"
Gonzalez replied as he went to the porthole and looked down.
