In the distance stretched an endless basalt plain, with densely packed mesas layered one atop another.
Green lightning streaked across the clouds. The gale whipped her long hair around, forcing her to keep brushing the strands away from her eyes. She raised her head, hitched up her tattered skirt, and walked barefoot, lifting her feet one after another—she hesitated for a moment, but still moved forward with determination.
Dust and sand billowed into the air, sweeping across the girl's skirt in the wind.
Amid the boundless storm of sand, only a solitary figure remained, stumbling forward with uneven steps.
An endless plain—
In the cramped study, fragments of the Sacred Sword rose one by one from the floor like dust in the wind, swirling around Adviser Miss.
Brando held the Sacred Sword Odephys and stared coldly at Male Sorcerer Sader. Beside him, Freya clenched both fists so tightly that they had nearly lost all color. Gritting her teeth, her eyes red with fury, she glared at this Silver People's sorcerer—they should have been guardians of order and bearers of civilization's flame.
"What are you people?" Male Sorcerer Sader demanded, shocked and furious as he looked at the two uninvited guests.
Where were the guards? Where were the other Sasar wizards in the castle?
He reached out and beckoned. The Gray Crystal staff that had been leaning to one side, unused until now, flew through the air and landed in his hand.
