The sky outside had already turned dark red. Golden meteors occasionally fell from the clouds and crashed into the ground. Fires flickered here and there across the plateau. Night had fallen, but the battle was still raging.

In the northern sky, the Floating Fleet and the dragons were still fighting Yarak the Unseen. With almost all their top fighters lost, the battle had become a brutal war of attrition. Delphine gently set down the quill in her hand, propped her chin on her palm, and stared blankly out the window. Terrified screams occasionally drifted in from outside. At that moment, even within Valhalla Fortress, everything was in complete chaos.

She slowly shifted her purple eyes and looked in another direction. Below the fortress, Farah the Corrector was already tottering on the verge of collapse, while fewer and fewer Valkyries were taking flight to join the battle. Only the glittering silver flame in the darkness remained at the heart of the fight.

The Chancellor's daughter was silent for a moment. Then, with a creak, the door to the study behind her opened. She turned and saw Missril knock on the door before walking in. The Silver Dragon Lady had changed into a clean robe, but her complexion was still somewhat pale. She had refused everyone's kind offers and merely washed her injured eye.

Missril stopped in front of Delphine, who also raised her head. The two silently faced each other in the room.

"I heard you were here," Missril said softly. "I thought you would go with him."

"Your eye?" Delphine asked.

Missril shook her head, indicating that she was fine.

Delphine was silent for a moment before picking up the quill again and scribbling something on the paper. But Missril watched her hand and spoke softly. "You're afraid, aren't you?"
