On the steep ice cliff, both sides remained still for a moment. Seberus looked down from above, while the cold wind swept the ice dust into white vortices behind him. The scene was eerily still, as if even time had frozen. The King of Frost Knights from the age of the War of the Saints quietly murmured, "Who am I?" His voice sounded like a lament, echoing through the wind. He slowly raised the blood-red rapier in his right hand, his movement as gentle as a dream. Yet the instant he lifted his hand, an invisible wave of air shot from the blade. The wind blade split the ice dust before it, angling slightly as it flew straight toward Medisa at the front. In its wake, the turbulent air formed a vortex along its path.
"Spirit Shield!" The Little Princess of the Silver Elves furrowed her brow and shouted softly. A translucent, spherical, grid-like shield instantly appeared before her. In the blink of an eye, the wind blade reached her. With a thunderous boom, it slammed head-on into the shield. The translucent grid flickered wildly as the blade pressed against it, distorted, and split apart to either side, crashing into the ground behind her and leaving two deep gashes nearly ten meters long across the glacier.
Once a warrior reached the Elemental Tier, basic swordsmanship gained an additional option—the use of technique and strength to compress air into wind blades, allowing attacks against enemies within a hundred feet. From then on, a warrior's melee attacks could extend into ranged attacks. Generally speaking, for a swordsman who had just entered the realm of Element Awakening, a wind blade could reach roughly a hundred feet. Even at the peak of Element Awakening, its range would not exceed two hundred feet.
