Brando retreated, and before he had time to steady himself, a flash of cold light came from the billowing dust where the wall ahead had collapsed. Two longswords pierced through the swirling dust and stabbed toward him.
Before the sword tips even reached him, a wave of scorching heat rushed into his face. A streak of golden flame was reflected deep in Brando's pupils. He actually saw a firebird flap out from behind the smoke and dust, diving straight at him.
At the same time, the floor beside him rumbled. The bricks beneath it burst from the ground, piled over one another, and instantly formed a concave wall that enclosed him.

But forcing him to fight them head-on? Brando thought they were seriously overestimating themselves. They probably assumed he had killed their comrades through ambushes. If so, he would just give them a painful lesson.
He was about to draw his sword, but his thoughts flashed like lightning. With a change of mind, he forcibly reined in his momentum. The crystal embedded in his right arm clattered noisily and nearly shattered under the strain of the feedback.
Brando had another idea now. These combat instincts were like an innate talent, engraved in his bones.
He swung his sword. With two clangs, he forced back the swords of the two men. Every time he parried a sword, a phantom stepped out and pursued the Flame Dependent Knight ahead, following the trajectory of Brando's blade. Meanwhile, Brando's figure flashed, and he actually went straight ◇→,ww■, rolling across the ground and seemingly avoiding the screeching firebird in utter disarray.
"Wind Empress Nine Luminaries?" a muffled cry came from within the thick fog.
He had been recognized? Brando
