Ch. 485Xuanyuan's Abdication
Xuanyuan chose his son Shaohao as his successor and abdicated after Shaohao proved suited to govern the Human Race in a peaceful age. Xuanyuan departed with Cang Jie as the era of the Three Sovereigns ended and the era of the Five Emperors began.
- Xuanyuan met Shaohao, learned he was his son and a disciple of Daoist Donghua, and observed his aptitude for stable, orderly rule.
- Xuanyuan brought Shaohao to Xuanyuan City and taught him political affairs and the Great Dao of governance.
- At the abdication ceremony, Xuanyuan named Shaohao the new Co-Lord, and Shaohao vowed to govern with Metal Virtue and uphold order.
- Merit descended and was divided among Xuanyuan, the Human Race, the Nine Heavens Profound Lady, Chiyou, Guang Chengzi and the Chan Sect disciples, and the Immortal-Slaying Sword; Karma then struck the Western Religion.
- Xuanyuan and Cang Jie bade farewell to Shaohao and left in an imperial carriage as the Human Race entered the era of the Five Emperors.
