Outlining the Situation

Qin He returned to the door of the private room and was about to push it open.

But he discovered that Du Ziteng was not drinking. Instead, he was pouring something into the wine jar, glancing around furtively like a thief.

Qin He could not help frowning.

Looking closely, he saw that Du Ziteng was holding another wine jar, pouring wine into the jar on Qin He's side.

He set the emptied jar on the floor, lifted a bucket beside it, and poured something into it, though Qin He could not tell what it was.

Only after filling two jars did he stop. Then, like a thief, he carried the bucket out before returning, wiped away the splashed water stains on the table, and sat back down.

Seeing this, Qin He pushed open the door and entered.

When Du Ziteng saw Qin He return, he hurriedly smiled. "Brother, where have you been for so long? Come, come."

"Did you... add more wine?" Qin He asked, looking at the two extra wine jars.

"Hehe, it's my first time treating you to drinks, Brother. The girls can be skipped, but there has to be enough wine, so I had the waiter bring up two more jars."

Du Ziteng smiled as he spoke, filling Qin He's bowl to the brim before filling his own.

When Qin He saw the wine in Du Ziteng's cup, his slightly furrowed brow finally eased.

This fellow really was poor.

He poured wine for Qin He, yet drank water himself.

All that bustling about earlier had been to pour water into his own jars and transfer the wine over to Qin He's side.
