What was the supernatural?
Qin He had not known before. For a time, he had thought the supernatural was simply ghosts.
It was only later that he understood ghosts could only be called terrifying, because they existed. They could be redeemed, and they could be destroyed.
But the supernatural was far more complicated. It was distorted rules at work.
As for exactly what those rules were, there was no way to generalize.
What had appeared before him was a lingering remnant of the demon wolf.
As for what exactly it was a remnant of, Qin He was not yet sure.
"The palm and the back of the hand are both flesh, and a face is no nobler than an ass, so... don't take it to heart." Qin He bared his teeth at the remnant soul fragment, then secretly threw a Spirit Fixing Seal at it.
The Spirit Fixing Seal was one of the Thirty-Six Spirit Suppressing Forms, incredibly effective against spirit-type entities.
Yet when the seal struck out, it hit nothing.
It had not missed, nor had it passed through.
There had simply been no disturbance whatsoever.
If it had missed, even if it hit only air, there should have been a ripple.
But this thing was as if it did not exist at all.
And yet this non-existent thing could be seen and heard.
That was a distorted rule.
It could not be understood.
One had to know that even a complete dead soul could not speak before becoming a ghost.
And becoming a ghost required time.
At most, this thing had been in Qin He's hands for less than two hours.
It was still far from completing even a single day's cycle of yin and yang.
"Kehehe..."
Qin He's answer had clearly failed to soothe the remnant's dissatisfaction.
