The burning warships slowly capsized. Blue gunpowder smoke spread across the entire sea, and the water seemed to be gradually stained red with blood. Yet the thunderous boom of cannon fire still echoed through the skies like explosions on the horizon.

"Orders! All gun crews, load!"

In this War of National Destiny, unprecedented in scale over the two hundred years since the Age of Exploration began, Irant and the Quasi-Legendary Battleship Reliance, on which he served, had been cruising along the outskirts of the Invincible Armada.

Figurehead-Armed Ghost Lizard had permanently imbued them with three abilities: Stealth Invisibility, Cannon Enchantment, and Water Jet Propulsion.

These abilities had made them exceptionally effective in this war.

Cannon Enchantment in particular meant that every time the Reliance fired, the iron cannonballs carried a burning effect no weaker than Scorching Bullets. At the same time, the bronze cannons were immune to barrel overheating caused by continuous fire, granting them an extremely high rate of fire.

Even when counterattacked by enemy ships of the line, they could launch short-distance, high-speed evasive maneuvers. Whether for dodging or sudden assaults, it was an excellent support ability.

Since the war began, they had severely damaged or sunk four ships, every one of them a mainstay warship of the Invincible Armada, while suffering almost no damage themselves.

When inexplicable sounds of water suddenly came from above, they were aiming their guns at a First-Rate Ship as tall as a city gate tower. Their eyes held only their target, and no one paid attention to the strange sound. Then the gunnery officer gave the order:

"Fire!"

The enchanted cannons roared in unison. A red-hot Scorching Bullet, by sheer luck, punched through the thick deck and fell straight into the First-Rate Ship's ammunition magazine.
