Background

Evan was born into the Garratt Family, an Iliya noble house descended from an explorer who discovered a safe route to the Southern Continent. Though the family once held the title of Baron, it declined until it retained little beyond a remote town and an iron mine. After Evan's father Forman died, opportunistic nobles seized the family’s assets, while Evan’s sister Anita disappeared during the family’s collapse. 1 24

Butler Leo fled with Evan to Leopold in Faletis, where they opened an apothecary. Leo later died from injuries sustained during their escape. Evan then awakened the adult consciousness that had lain dormant in his body since childhood; rather than replacing him, the consciousness merged with his existing identity and memories. 1

He trained relentlessly in swordsmanship, survival skills, navigation, archery, and apothecary arts. At fifteen, he reached the peak of the Apprentice Knight stage and soon entered the Faletis Navy, where Captain Gell recognized him as the son of his late friend and became his mentor and uncle figure. 8 24

Evan pursued both the Knight and Wizard paths. He joined the Violet Eye, studied in the Shadow Library, entered the Alchemy School, and ultimately chose to revive the Tree of Life School rather than remain within an established branch. 99 156 205

His naval merit earned him restored recognition as the last male heir of the Garratt Family and the title of Garratt Baron.
