The Twin Gods Slain by Mortals

The main subject of the mural depicted a vast war.

One side consisted of towering gods whose massive forms reached into the clouds, their imposing and indifferent presence rendered with vivid precision.

A ceaseless golden river flowed around them, carrying countless scaled humanoid creatures along in its currents. They were most likely their followers.

The other side was an army of "flagellates" that filled the sky, like visitors from beyond the heavens who had crushed through the clouds to descend here, unleashing countless lethal Energy Whips and Mind Pierces.

Though they did not look exactly like "Ark Plan · Purger · No. 9527," they were very similar, merely lacking the bizarre growths that appeared after the Purger's mutation.

Acting alongside them was a large group of "Armored People" wielding black Cross Halberds. But from this angle, they looked more like giant humanoid bugs covered in chitinous shells.

Combined with the information they had already gathered, Evan could make a fairly accurate guess about the two sides in the war.

The mural likely depicted the war between gods and men in the Third Epoch, between the Muria Civilization and the Lahamu God.

At the end of the enormous mural, the "flagellates" and Armored People surrounded the god's corpse and cheered. Clearly, the final victor had not been the high and mighty god, but the mortal Muria people.

In other words, they had actually slain an eternal, immortal god with mortal bodies?!

But by all reason, even a Divinity Creature possessed the power to disregard conventional mortal attacks. How had they done it?

Looking at the several cross-shaped halberds embedded in the Lahamu God's body, Evan fell into thought.
