Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
What arrived before that terrifying behemoth was a bone-piercing wave of cold.
The seawater, soil, multicolored jungle, skyscrapers—everything around them froze at incredible speed, while layers of bluish-white ice rapidly thickened.
"Help! Help! Come help me!"
Even the Skeleton Black Wolves that had just been preparing to hunt Evan's group collectively began shrieking and retreating, paying no attention at all to the countless razor-sharp lightning Sword Lights that were likewise sweeping away "themselves" in swaths.
In just a few breaths.
The wolf pack vanished. An especially enormous Giant Wolf, its back covered in spikes and wrapped in dim blood-red divine light, plunged headfirst into the water and disappeared without a trace.
Clearly, this large creature that had charged over was a powerful being at the top of the food chain even in the world "beyond the door."
Whether Evan's group had made for a larger target or because of their status as outsiders, the diplodocus-like White Bone Behemoth continued rushing straight at them.
The blue orb of light in its chest pulsed continuously like a heart, stirring the atmosphere across a thousand-kilometer stretch of the Endless Ocean. Not only had a cold wave descended, but a devastating blizzard had followed in its wake.
The group vaguely heard the blizzard and icy wind singing with abandon:
"Afomu! Great Lord of the Iceflame Arctic Circle! You are the holy god who rules winter; your breath is the rhythm of the four seasons—"
"It's Him? How did He end up like this?"
The instant they heard the hymn, the learned wizards in the group shuddered.
The reason was that most of them had heard this thunderous name before.
For Afomu, the Lord of the Iceflame Arctic Circle, was not an ancient god who had entered the world beyond the door
