Chapter 1295: The Public
The atmosphere at Avengers headquarters was somewhat tense. Rogers had originally been strongly opposed to the Act.
But after Tony's persuasion, and considering the bond they shared as comrades-in-arms, he was ultimately persuaded to set his objections aside for the time being.
For now, he would at least go and take a look...
Seeing Rogers fall silent, Tony was overjoyed inside, thinking he had successfully persuaded him. He immediately clapped his hands and said with a smile,
"Don't worry, everyone. I know a few people. Even if the Act is signed, it can't be enforced too rigidly. We have to take your concerns into account as well."
"I hope so..."
Black Widow let out a faint sigh at the sight before her. She could tell that Rogers had absolutely not been persuaded by Tony!
Ultron, standing nearby, also had something flickering constantly in his eyes. Hmm, it was a shame he had not fully learned how to use the gem in his head yet. Otherwise, wouldn't it be great if he could just control them directly...
Just as Ultron was entertaining his evil thoughts, Tony continued clapping and said,
"Also, let me introduce two new companions to everyone. You've met them before—they're familiar faces, the Maximoff siblings."
As he spoke, the doors opened, and Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch walked in.
Although they had fought during the Hydra purge, after Tony learned of their past and they came to understand Tony's resolve, the two sides had gone from enemies to friends.
After hearing Tony speak of the siblings' origins with self-reproach, and seeing that they were willing to become partners, the others welcomed them with applause.
Tony even took the opportunity to throw a party, hoping to ease the tension.
Unfortunately, the party atmosphere was rather dreadful.
