"Is this the New York battlefield? Did we come to the wrong place...?"
Looking at the devastated New York, where Chitauri rode their flyers and wreaked havoc everywhere, Tony, Ant-Man, Banner, Captain America, and Stephen all wore strange expressions when they arrived.
They remembered that the Battle of New York had originally been shielded by the Astral Dimension. Even when they forcibly used a nuclear missile inside later, it had not caused much damage.
Stark Tower had suffered the worst of it, but now, all of New York lay in ruins. Buildings had collapsed, burned, and exploded everywhere!
The wails of civilians filled their ears, making them suspect they had truly come to the wrong place.
With so many civilians present, and with Tony and Stephen's control over the Astral Dimension, they could be certain that this was not the Astral Dimension at all, but the real World of the Living.
"What happened? Didn't Master Ancient One intervene? Wasn't he supposed to use the Astral Dimension to separate the civilians from the battlefield?"
Stephen's face was full of disbelief. In this point in the timeline, he should still have been a surgeon, but after becoming the Supreme Mage, he had learned a great deal about what had happened in New York.
The battle had been brutal then, but civilians had not been harmed much.
He had not thought much of it before, but seeing the contrast now, he realized just how much better the situation had been back then!
"Where is Xu Yue? Loki said that the person who appeared back then was also Xu Yue's doing, so why can we only see Loki?"
"And I remember there were many other strange, powerful superheroes back then. They haven't appeared either. That beauty who could freeze the earth isn't here, either."
