"Chief Parker, someone claiming to be an envoy from those mysterious cities has arrived!"
Just as Parker was enjoying a pleasant dream, the mercenaries at the base gate sent word.
The chief paused in surprise, then said with a hint of amusement,
"Bring them over. Also, call Colonel Miles here."
Colonel Miles was the base's combat commander. He oversaw the mercenaries and served as the main military force protecting the mining operation.
His personal strength was formidable, and his military capabilities were exceptional. With him present, they could also get a sense of what those mysterious visitors were capable of.
Furthermore, the message from the gate said that the visitors all had Asian faces and spoke fluent English. Parker could not help suspecting that some force from Earth might be trying to pull something!
RDA was Earth's most powerful non-governmental organization. Its shares were distributed among the world's major powers, leaving it virtually without competitors and utterly arrogant.
Still, no matter what, they retained basic vigilance. Parker wanted to learn something from the other side...
The two black-robed figures brought in were the two Intruders who had previously read Parker's thoughts.
As Intruders, they possessed abundant mission experience and had entered high-tech worlds many times. Combined with their mind-oriented abilities, they were ideally suited for probing the situation.
Their initial exchange was fairly harmonious. The two Japanese Intruders posed as visitors from a parallel world, claiming that this planet was the battlefield of their decisive battle, and revealed the information in a mixture of truth and lies.
They first ensured that there was no conflict of interest between the two sides before seeking cooperation.
Because they could occasionally probe Chief Parker's mind, they were always able to grasp his limits and accurately identify what he wanted.
