Irie Iri, a Senior Investigator of the CCG, was also a Half-Human from Sunlit Garden and a member of V.
Because she was a Half-Human, despite her youth, she was far stronger than Mado Kureo. She was a powerful investigator somewhere between S-Rank and SS-Rank.
Because of the Half-Humans' innate advantage in concealment, she had been sent to Okinawa Base for the initial probing.
Her strength might not have exceeded Johnson's by much, but the advantages of a Half-Human were indeed exceptional. Their stealth was simply too strong.
"But it is indeed strange. What kind of massive project have they been working on here lately? It seems they're building something, maybe underground facilities..."
Although Okinawa Base was established within Japan's jurisdiction, Japan itself had no authority to interfere with this base. It could be regarded as an enclave of the US Federal.

However, the comings and goings of those large construction vehicles over the past few days had caught Irie Iri's attention.

It was impossible for this construction project to have nothing to do with him.
