"What exactly happened? Did enemies attack this place?"
Powell touched the recently stitched wound on his chest and asked Rex gravely.
"I'm not sure, but this base has obviously suffered a heavy blow. All external communications have failed. Even the radios are malfunctioning. It was probably explosions combined with interference."
Rex's expression was equally steady.
What was meant to come had come after all. We were just about to obtain the advanced unlock for this hidden element, and the others were about to reach intermediate level too. Yet now this gatekeeping battle had arrived?
Rex was a genuine American, not some ignorant black man. He had specifically studied some science-fiction knowledge. He was no expert, but he at least understood the basics.
He knew that a situation like this meant the base's communications station had been blown up, along with high-powered wireless interference. The people outside had come thoroughly prepared.
This attack probably would not be easy to deal with.
"Tell everyone to prepare. We may need to temporarily enhance some of our own abilities."
They had already invested so much. With the harvest almost within reach, they naturally would not be stingy now.
They could recover the losses once the mission was complete anyway. They were already in an unbeatable position, so what was there to fear?
We're not like those people who lost their shirts!
"Powell, take your people and lead the Alien Squad. I'll take the Velociraptor Squad. I refuse to believe that every enemy this time can be as strong as Boss Johnson!"
A cold glint flashed through Rex's eyes as he made the arrangements.
Powell had been hired by Rex. Although he knew the Alien Squad carried some risks, he still agreed without hesitation.
As for the other Reincarnators, quite a few were stronger
