Chen Shaokuan’s ship was trapped in a restricted zone and surrounded by a powerful force of Reincarnators backed by the Qing Court. The Old Eunuch tried to recruit him, but Chen Shaokuan refused, leaving the students aboard in immediate danger.

• An airship crew activated a Descent Force Field to intercept Chen Shaokuan’s ship and kill its guards and overseas students.
• Chen Shaokuan received a warning that the surrounding sea had become a restricted zone and ordered the ship to battle stations.
• Reincarnators descended through the clouds, froze the sea around the ship, and blocked its route with a reef and an iceberg.
• Chen Shaokuan confronted the attackers and realized that the Qing Court had brought in outside forces, including Japan.
• The Old Eunuch offered Chen Shaokuan a chance to defect and warned that the students would die if he refused, but Chen Shaokuan rejected his appeal.

Chen Shaokuan launched a surprise attack against Utsunomiya Taro, but the Japanese force blocked it and pressed the Beiyang crew to surrender. Xu Yue’s group reached the oasis, where Kisame blocked their path and attacked the Sand Ninja Reincarnators instead of the Konoha team. Lin struggled to hold him off while Xu Yue stopped Naruto from joining the fight and began considering how to deal with Deidara.
