Unnamable Intruders
Intruders.
To be honest, Yu Sheng's heart had already been in turmoil before he heard those three words. When he learned that Dark Angel could appear in the real world, and when he heard the words "another planet" from Song Cheng, he had already realized that those twisted beings known as "angels" might be far stranger and more powerful than he had imagined. But he had never expected that those things might actually be intruders from... beyond the world.
He had always assumed that it was like an entity in the Otherworld, some kind of bizarre phenomenon belonging to this world—at most, an even more dangerous "super-entity."
"...No wonder Little Red Riding Hood warned me to avoid getting involved with Dark Angel as much as possible."
Yu Sheng muttered under his breath.
Song Cheng heard Yu Sheng's quiet mutter, but said nothing. He simply continued placing more documents on the coffee table before them. "I also brought files on several other Dark Angel, but not all of them. Some Dark Angel have the trait that merely knowing their names causes 'leakage,' so they can only be mentioned and studied inside the Special Operations Bureau's 'Safe House.' Others have been classified as forbidden for various reasons, and even I don't have access clearance. But you can look through these. Looking at them alone shouldn't be dangerous."
Yu Sheng did not immediately touch the documents on the coffee table as he had before. Instead, he suddenly asked curiously, "Why are you taking such an interest in me? I'm guessing you definitely wouldn't bring out files of this level for other Spirit Realm Detective—even if they had already encountered Dark Angel."
Song Cheng thought for a moment. "Because we suspect you possess the power to drive out 'angels.'"
